Newcastle have already had a season full of ups and downs despite having played just seven games. The Magpies destroyed Aston Villa 5-1 on the opening day, but followed this up by losing three in a row. They went on to have a less than convincing performance against Milan in the UEFA Champions League opener as they scraped through with a 0-0 draw. However, their performance saw a drastic improvement in the next game as they embarrassed Sheffield United in their own stadium with a thumping 8-0 victory.

Despite the striker position being divided up between Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak so far this season, both have impressed when on the pitch. Wilson is on four goals for the season whilst Isak sits one behind him on three.

In contrast to Newcastle, nearly everything has gone perfectly for Manchester City so far. Since losing on penalties in the Community Shield to Arsenal, City have shown utter dominance with them winning every one of their last eight games. During this run they have scored 20 goals while conceding only five, already showing similar levels of performances to what they achieved during their treble winning last season.

Erling Haaland has been in top form already this season too. The Norwegian has scored eight goals in his six appearances in the Premier League this season, three more than the next highest scorer Heung-min Son on five.

Bet9ja Tips

Man City have already beaten Newcastle in a convincing 1-0 win earlier in the season, and we can see Man City grabbing the win this time round too. Both teams are expected to make a host of changes but whatever XI City field, it’s still going to be a world class team. You can get odds of them winning at 2.40 with Bet9ja, with odds of them winning 2-0 being priced up at 12.75.

Julian Alvarez is expected to lead the line for City and is in good scoring form with four goals, despite not playing as a centre-forward. You can get odds of 7.10 for him to score first and 3.25 for the Argentine to net anytime.

Bet9ja Odds (at time of writing, 90 minutes only): Newcastle win: 2.80, Draw: 3.50, Manchester City win: 2.40
