BEST EPL GOALS BETWEEN ARSENAL & MANCHESTER CITY

Arsenal host Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium, in a massive game that see’s last season’s first and second placed sides face up.

In the 31 years since the inaugural Premier League season, both Arsenal and Man City have been blessed with some of the best talent the league has ever seen. These players have produced moments of individual brilliance, and linked up to create unbelievable team goals in there time in the league, and some of these have happened in this very fixture.

Read on to see what we think are the best five goals this fixture has produced in the English Premier League:

Thierry Henry – 1 February 2004

Arsenal 2-1 Manchester City

Thierry Henry may just be the best footballer to have ever played in the Premier League and he provided one of his best in this game. Receiving the ball just outside the box, Henry took one touch to control the pass, another to set his shot and then arrowed the ball straight into the top corner.

Shaun Wright-Phillips – 4 January 2005

Arsenal 1-1 Manchester City

Shaun Wright-Phillips scored 32 goals during his time in the Premier League, but one of his best came against his father Ian Wright’s beloved Arsenal. Intercepting a loose pass from Patrick Vieira, Wright-Phillips took a second to get control of the ball before unleashing a venomous strike into Manuel Almunia’s top right corner from 25 yards out.

Yaya Toure – 21 December 2015

Arsenal 2-1 Manchester City

Yaya Toure is arguably one of the most talented midfielders to have graced the Premier League, and he showed this off when he scored a sublime effort in an eventual 2-1 loss to Arsenal in 2015. Having played a one-two with Bacary Sagna, Toure received the ball just outside of the Arsenal box. The Ivorian took on the shot first time on his weaker left foot and arced it up and into the top right of Petr Cech’s net, giving him no chance.

Theo Walcott – 14 December 2013

Manchester City 6-3 Arsenal

Despite scoring two on the day, it was the second of Theo Walcott’s goals that was truly brilliant. Aaron Ramsey clipped the ball into Walcott, who found himself with a bit of space inside the City box. Taking one touch to get it out of his feet, Walcott curled his effort up and over Costel Pantilimon and into the top corner to get one back for Arsenal and make it 3-2.

Thierry Henry – 22 February 2003

Manchester City 1-5 Arsenal

Thierry Henry finds himself in this list again with his superb effort, scoring the third of Arsenal’s five goals in this game. Martin Keown played a brilliant 60 yard pass over to Henry, who brought the ball down exquisitely with his first touch and then lashed the ball across the keeper and into the bottom corner.
