After last season’s record-breaking heroics, Erling Haaland goes into the international break as the league’s top scorer with eight goals, but not the top points scorer in Fantasy Premier League.
Aston Villa’s England standout Ollie Watkins and Liverpool’s Mr. Consistent Mo Salah both lead the way with 59 points apiece – Watkins has scored four goals and chipped in with seven assists on FPL, while Salah has scored five and assisted four.
Value at the back
The best value player this season has been none other than defender Joachim Andersen – he’s played every minute for Crystal Palace so far, keeping four clean sheets and chipping in with two goals.
Since the start of the season his price has risen from £4.5m to £4.9m – if he stays fit and continues to contribute to Roy Hodgson’s side he would be a sensible investment for any manager looking for quality on a budget.
Brentford’s midfielder Mathias Jensen has been outstanding for the Bees so far – his 46 points for just £5.4m make him an astute purchase due to his availability and quality in the final third.
Goalkeeper-wise Sam Johnstone has impressed for Crystal Palace alongside Andersen, netting an impressive 38 points at a cost of just £4.5m.
Behind established international players Watkins and Julian Alvarez, Luton’s Carlton Morris has impressed in tough conditions to come in as the third best value-for-money forward with three goals and one assist at a price of £4.4m.
