Last weekend’s fixtures saw five of the top seven drop points, and all of these are sure to be looking to rectify that this time around. Elsewhere, three of the bottom four also grabbed points as the league table starts to take shape with teams finding out what battles they’ll likely be involved in come the end of the season.
With all this drama from last week, it’s sure to be more of the same in matchday 12 of the English Premier League.
Read on for our top tips and booking code for this weekend’s games:
Tottenham Hotspur to win, 2.24
Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham may have fallen to a 4-1 loss against rivals Chelsea last week, but the scoreline ended up being rather flattering for the Blues with them scoring twice in added time to put the game to bed. Despite going down to nine men early in the second half and losing both James Maddison and Micky van de Ven to injuries in the first 45, Ange Postecoglou’s men stuck to their way of playing which had previously kept them unbeaten in the league. Although they did fall to defeat in the end, a valiant display has earned Spurs plenty of appreciation and compliments in the days since.
With Postecoglou also winning his third Manager of the Month award for October this week, the first manager to ever win all of the first three of the season, Spurs will still be coming into this game with plenty of confidence. While missing four players to injury and suspensions will hurt Spurs, we’re sure Postecoglou will find a way and get Spurs back on track in this one.
Manchester United to win, 1.32
Manchester United vs Luton Town
Manchester United will be extremely disappointed with their result against FC Copenhagen on Wednesday as despite leading 2-0 and then 3-2, Copenhagen came out 4-3 victors leaving United on the verge of Champions League elimination. Regardless of the eventual scoreline, the game involved some of the best football United have played this season and Erik ten Hag will be hopeful that the performances and results both start coming together this weekend.
With Luton Town down in 17th and just six points to their name so far, Man United will be confident they can get back to winning ways and start trying to put their season together in this one, and we firmly expect them to do just that.
Liverpool and Brentford to draw, 5.05
Liverpool come into this game on the back of a draw against Luton and a loss against Toulouse in their last two games. With Brentford flying high on the back of three big wins against Burnley, Chelsea and West Ham, we can see this being a particularly tough encounter for both sides and we believe this one will end in stalemate.
Erling Haaland to score, 1.85
Erling Haaland has scored seven in his last five appearances for Manchester City, including two in his most recent outing against BSC Young Boys. While Chelsea may be full of confidence after beating Tottenham 4-1 last weekend, Tottenham were still able to get plenty of chances with just nine men on the pitch and this will be a concern for when they face Manchester City’s eleven. With this, we expect Haaland to get his fair share of chances and we expect him to score yet again in this one.
