After another weekend of FA Cup action, the English Premier League returns this week. Liverpool currently sit at the top of the table, having lost just one league match all year, but Manchester City are hot on their heels and look primed to hit their annual run of form that has seen them win three consecutive league titles in the last few years.
It remains to be seen how Liverpool will react to the news of manager Jurgen Klopp departing at the end of the season. We spoke to Bet9ja Ambassador Victor Ikpeba about the title picture and how he sees the rest of the English domestic season panning out.

The league is decided not just by the head-to-head matches between the big teams
This week we’ve got a huge fixture between Liverpool and Chelsea at Anfield – Liverpool will be looking at this match as a very winnable fixture due to how inconsistent Chelsea are, but will have to be wary given how Chelsea have managed to play in big matches this season.
Chelsea are good offensively with players like Cole Palmer who has really impressed me this season, but remain a poor side defensively. I think Liverpool will take this one. The issue that Liverpool have is that I doubt they can win 11 or 12 games on the bounce like Man City can towards the business end of the season against teams from all different ends of the league.
We know that Liverpool can beat anyone on their day but it’s a different pressure when City are chasing you.
Arsenal are not out of the title race!
It’s become a popular opinion that Arsenal have already spoiled their chances of winning the league this season, but the reality is that they are just 5 points off Liverpool with a match against them at The Emirates this weekend.
Thomas Partey looks like he’s back and nearly fit to play again, so Arsenal fans will hope that they can put together a good run. Their squad is quite thin compared to Liverpool and City, but I still see it as a three-horse race, especially with Arsenal only having the Premier League and UEFA Champions League to focus on. I back them to beat Nottingham Forest this week, even though they lost last season.
My midweek Premier League predictions:
Nottingham Forest 1-2 Arsenal
Fulham 1-0 Everton
Luton Town 1-2 Brighton and Hove Albion
Crystal Palace 1-0 Sheffield United
Aston Villa 1-1 Newcastle United
Manchester City 3-0 Burnley
Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 Brentford
Liverpool 2-1 Chelsea
West Ham United 2-1 Bournemouth
Wolverhampton Wanderers 0-1 Manchester United
