The UEFA Champions League makes it’s long awaited return this week with the first matches set to take place on Tuesday night, exactly two months on from the final group stage games in December.
The first two games see two European giants taking part in the first legs of their round of 16 ties with current holders Manchester City taking on Copenhagen and record winners Real Madrid travelling to face RB Leipzig.
Read on as pick out our top tips and booking codes for these two upcoming games:
FC Copenhagen vs Manchester City
Manchester City come into this game as not only the favourites to progress past their opponents but as one of the favourites to go on and win the entire competition once again. However, Copenhagen are unlikely to be an easy game for the current holders with the Danish side losing just three times at home in the six seasons they have participated in the competition since 2006/07.
Despite this, Manchester City have been on fire in recent weeks as they are currently enjoying a 13-game unbeaten run while they have also won all of their last 10 games across all competitions. Alongside the return of key players such as Erling Haaland, who scored twice on the weekend, and Kevin De Bruyne, we expect that Manchester City will win this one come the end of the game.
Manchester City to win, 1.25
RB Leipzig vs Real Madrid
Another team who are one of the favourites to go on and win the competition is 14-time winners Real Madrid. Los Blancos have had an excellent season so far with them currently sitting top of La Liga with just one loss in their 24 games played, while they have also won the Supercopa de Espana thanks to a 4-1 win over Barcelona in the final.
Just two losses this entire season will see them come into this game with huge confidence and with RB Leipzig faltering in their last few games, losing three of their last five, we believe Real Madrid will go on to win this one.
Real Madrid to win, 2.20
RB Leipzig vs Real Madrid
One of the many players who has been in fantastic form for Real Madrid this season is Brazilian superstar Vinicius Junior.
A change in style from Real Madrid this season has seen Vinicius move more centrally into a two-man strike force alongside his national compatriot Rodrygo, with Jude Bellingham often joining them in advanced areas. This has been a fruitful move for Vinicius which has helped him to score seven league goals in just 15 appearances while also scoring twice in three Champions League games.
The Brazilian is coming into this one with three goals in his last four appearances, and we fancy him to get on the scoresheet once again for Real Madrid in this one.
Vinicius Junior to score anytime, 2.75
