Manchester City came from behind to secure a dominant 3-1 victory over rivals Manchester United, with young star Phil Foden netting a brace after Marcus Rashford’s stunning opener, before Erling Haaland’s late finish sealed all three points for City.

There is a significant gap in quality between the two sides!
I predicted before this match that it would be a comfortable 3-1 victory for City, and aside from the shock early goal for United, that’s exactly what it was. Marcus Rashford deserves some credit for his early strike – he can be so dangerous from that sort of range – but that is the only piece of real quality that United produced all match.
Phil Foden is a marvellous player and was the difference between the two sides yesterday. In Kevin De Bruyne’s absence he has been given more authority this season and he’s really stepped up to the plate. I can’t wait to see how he performs for England in the EURO’s this summer! It looks like Bukayo Saka, who is also having a brilliant season, will start on the right wing but Foden is a versatile player and will be a great option for Gareth Southgate to have either behind Harry Kane or out on the left wing.
Manchester City can be tested defensively.
Despite United only having one shot on goal, there were a couple of occasions where if they had a bit more quality and composure going forward they could have tested Ederson. Marcus Rashford scored the most difficult chance that he had all day but managed to waste a couple of good opportunities when he found himself in space.
Liverpool and Arsenal will look at the space that Manchester City leave in behind and see that as an area that they can create problems for Manchester City. They don’t concede many chances, but when they do it tends to be as a result of runners in behind.
