Their first meeting in England was a 0-1 Liverpool win at The Etihad Stadium and since then it Klopp has been one of the only managers in the league to consistently cause Guardiola problems, culminating in some high-octane clashes in both the English Premier League and the UEFA Champions League.

On their way to their first UEFA Champions League final under Klopp in 2018, Liverpool overcame City in a helter-skelter match-up that saw Guardiola’s centurions concede five goals over two legs – another example of Klopp’s gegenpressing proving to be a problem for the Spaniard.
In the same season, Liverpool won a thrilling match 4-3 against City at Anfield – another classic Premier League match.
Manchester City have enjoyed their fair share of heavy victories in this time period – they have notched 5-0, 4-0 and 4-1 victories over Klopp’s men.
