This week has seen matchday 31 of this year’s English Premier League season take place, with eight of the ten games having already been played.
These eight games have provided goals, action and plenty of drama throughout, and this is likely to continue today with two hugely important matches set to happen.
Second-placed Liverpool take on Sheffield United at Anfield with a chance to go back to the top of the table after Arsenal won earlier this week, while Sheffield United are in desperate need of quick victories if they are to make up their 10-point deficit on Nottingham Forest who are in 17th. Elsewhere Manchester United travel to face Chelsea, a match-up that has provided some of the best spectacles throughout the Premier League era.

Liverpool vs Sheffield United
This game sees the match-up of two sides operating at complete opposite ends of the table, with Liverpool having the chance to move back to the top of the table if they pick up at least a point, while Sheffield United are rock bottom of the table and 10 points away from safety.
While Sheffield United’s performance levels have improved in recent weeks, they have still failed to pick up the victories they need, ending with draws in both their last two games after conceding added time equalisers in both games. In comparison, Liverpool have been on fire in the league, not losing since a 2-0 defeat to Arsenal at the beginning of February.
With Liverpool being the extremely superior side, and also boasting home advantage, we expect them to comfortably win tonight.

Chelsea vs Manchester United
Chelsea vs Manchester United in the Premier League has historically been a clash between two of the best sides in the country, competing for trophies and bragging rights. This match-up has changed in recent years though, now seeing a match between a Man United side who are trying to protect their sixth place and a Chelsea side who reside in the bottom half of the table in 12th.
The hosts come into this game unbeaten in their last five league games, while the visitors have lost two of their last five. Chelsea have been rather poor at home this season though, picking up 22 points from 14 matches at Stamford Bridge, the 13th best in the league. This will come as good news to Manchester United as their strength has been their away form, seeing them take the sixth-best points tally on the road.
While this game is likely to be a tight encounter between two underperforming sides, we believe Manchester United will make the most of Chelsea’s struggles at home and win this one.
