With rumours circulating that Erik ten Hag could be sacked at Manchester United, we have picked out five managers who came back from the brink of being sacked to achieve success.
The Dutch manager has had a disappointing season on the pitch with United, as they currently sit in sixth place in the league, but he could turn things around if he guides his side to FA Cup success.
United scraped their way past Championship outfit Coventry City on penalties in the semi-final of the FA Cup at the weekend and they will match up against Manchester City in the final, where Ten Hag could prove his doubters wrong.

1. Mikel Arteta, Arsenal
Arteta has not had the smoothest ride in charge at Arsenal, after a poor start in December 2020 meant that the Gunners were without a league win for almost two months.
Fast forward two years, and Arsenal is now a side competing in the Champions League and have a chance of lifting the Premier League this term, which has led the Spanish boss to be greatly loved by the somewhat toxic fan base.
2. David Moyes, West Ham United
West Ham United had an extremely poor campaign last term in regards to league form, after finishing 14th, and many of the Hammers faithful were calling for Moyes to be sacked.
However, the Scottish manager turned things around and guided them to win their first-ever European trophy in the Europa Conference League, which meant that he has kept his job for at least another year.
3. Maurizio Sarri, Chelsea
Sarri spent just one season in charge at Chelsea and in February 2019, the Blues found themselves down at sixth in the league standings despite a promising start under the Italian boss.
The former Napoli manager certainly turned things around at Stamford Bridge, guiding them to finish third in the league, winning the League Cup and the Europa League, all in a single campaign.
4. Sir Alex Ferguson, Manchester United
Sir Alex took over at Manchester United in 1986 and just three years later, he nearly got the sack after some poor form in the league saw them lose four out of five games.
The Scot soon turned things around, guiding United to FA Cup success that season, and of course went on to win 13 league titles, five FA Cups, and two Champions League trophies during his 26-season tenure at the club.
5. Arsene Wenger, Arsenal
Many fans called for Wenger to be sacked during the latter stages of his career at Arsenal, after they went nine years without a trophy and seemed in need of a fresh start.
However, he put an end to this trophy drought in 2014, when the Gunners beat Hull City in the FA Cup final, and the French boss went on to win two more FA Cups with Arsenal before parting ways with the club in 2018.
