17-year-old Brazilian forward Endrick has set the international world alight in recent months.
The wonderkid first came off the bench in March for Brazil and scored the only goal of the game to earn his side the victory in a friendly against a strong England side. Three days later he scored against Spain at the Bernabeu, the stadium he will be playing his football from next season. Earlier this month, he scored his third international goal in a 3-2 friendly win over Mexico.
The 17-year-old has agreed to sign for Real Madrid in the summer for a fee of £52.5million, so the Spanish outfit clearly see him as a a player that could be vital for them in the future.
Here’s a look at why Endrick is so highly rated:
Career so far
Endrick has been tipped as one of the best young talents in world football, featuring 82 times for the Palmeiras senior team and scored an impressive 21 goals.
The youngster has already featured six times for Brazil, which is a remarkable achievement at such a tender age, and to come off the bench and score against a quality opponent is a sign of great things to come.
Potential at Madrid
As a young player, Real Madrid are one of the most attractive clubs that you can sign for, with proof in the past that if you are old enough, then you are good enough to be given a chance in the first-team.
Martin Odegaard is evidence of this, after he made his senior debut at the club at just 16-years-old, and he has now gone on to be one of the best players in the world in his position – Endrick would have been fond of the chance that he could get at playing first-team football.
Pressure of the price tag
We have seen in the past that when youngsters make a move for a significant transfer fee, the pressure proves too much, and they do not go on to reach their full potential.
However, we do not feel like this will be the case with Endrick, as he has already shown that he can score goals playing first-team football, and with the trust that Madrid gives to young players, he will go on to have an excellent career.
