10 Wonderkids Destined For Big Moves This Summer

While International tournaments are taking place over the summer, football clubs are working behind the scenes to secure their new signings before the beginning of the next campaign takes place.

Many of these sides will be looking for the next up-and-coming wonderkid to join their ranks so they can develop them into the next biggest star and in this article, we’re going to be taking a look at 10 wonderkids who are destined for moves this summer:

Joao Neves

Neves made his first senior appearance for Benfica last campaign, but this season has been the midfielder’s breakout season. He has made 55 appearances across all competitions and his fantastically consistent performances have earned him links to some of the top teams across Europe, including Manchester United and Arsenal.

Milos Kerkez

Kerkez already plies his trade in the Premier League with Bournemouth after moving to the south coast last summer, and an impressive first campaign in England has seen him garner the attention of Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea with a rumoured £40 million move on the cards in the coming weeks.

Jarrad Branthwaite

The towering centre-back was surprisingly left out of the England Euros squad despite being a major part of an Everton defence that conceded the fourth least goals in the league this term, behind only the top three teams.

Branthwaite has reportedly caught the eye of Manchester United, who are looking to make him one of their big-money signings this window.

Riccardo Calafiori

Calafiori may be slightly older than some of those on this list, but the 22-year-old Italian international enjoyed a brilliant breakthrough season for Bologna that has seen him become a target for some top teams this summer.

Liverpool and Tottenham are the two biggest teams of note that have taken a look at Calafiori so far, and we expect him to find a new home after the Euros.

Yasin Ozcan

Reports have suggested that Liverpool have identified 18-year-old Yasin Ozcan as a potential target for the club this summer. Despite only turning 18 in April this year, Ozcan already has an astounding 60 first-team appearances in the Turkish Super Lig and is extremely highly rated across the continent.

Aaron Anselmino

Since Todd Boehly took over at Chelsea there has been a strong emphasis on signing some of the top wonderkids in South America, most notably Ecuadorean Kendry Paez, and they look set for another signing in this window.

19-year-old Anselmino has played in both defence and midfield for Boca Juniors this year and Chelsea are reportedly looking to activate an almost £20 million release clause to acquire his signature.

Benjamin Sesko

Sesko has been the subject of interest from a whole host of top European clubs since an impressive season at RB Salzburg in 2021/22, and that has continued since impressing in his debut season for RB Leipzig this year.

Arsenal are said to be weighing up a potential move for the 21-year-old striker, but a recently signed contract with the German club could lead to a significant fee for his acquisition.

Leny Yoro

Yoro has become a major target for multiple of Europe’s elite clubs after a phenomenal season at Lille that saw the 18-year-old play 44 times for his club. While both Chelsea and Manchester United have looked at the centre-half dubbed to be the ‘next Raphael Varane’, Real Madrid are deemed to be the most likely destination.

Ousmane Diomande

Another central defender who could be on the move this summer is Sporting CP’s Diomande, who has just lifted the Liga Portugal trophy in his second season with the senior side.

Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool are said to be the leading candidates for the defender, but they are set to face competition from a number of elite sides across the continent.

Luca Netz

The final player on this list is reportedly an alternative option to Kerkez for some of Europe’s top clubs this summer, with multiple teams looking to acquire the 21-year-old left-back’s signature.

Netz has shown impressive ability in both defensive and offensive areas for Borussia Monchengladbach this season, playing 34 times across all competitions and registering five assists.
