As the 2024 European Championship heads into the quarter-finals, the competition becomes fiercer than ever and the odds for the remaining teams to come out victorious have seen significant shifts since the opening day.
The tournament has already given us some surprising upsets, dominant performances and disappointing displays, the odds have been adjusted to mirror the current form and momentum of the remaining teams.
In this article, we’re going to look at these changes and find out who are the current favourites to win Euro 2024:
England to win Euro 2024, 4.75
Despite an extremely underwhelming opening four matches, which included England coming within seconds of exiting the tournament at the hands of Slovakia in the last round before a last-gasp Jude Bellingham equaliser and Harry Kane extra-time winner saw them stay in the competition, the Three Lions remain the favourites to lift the trophy.
The performances may not have reached the expectations of many but they have shown their star-studded squad can turn a game in their favour in a matter of seconds. They are also on the perceived ‘easier’ side of the draw, meaning anything but an appearance in the final would be a major disappointment for Gareth Southgate’s men, who are looking for a first major trophy since 1966.
Spain to win Euro 2024, 5.25
Spain have arguably been the most impressive side in the competition thus far, and their odds of winning the tournament present exactly that, quickly rising up to become one of the major favourites.
Spain have conceded just one goal throughout the entire tournament, the joint-least with France, and have scored the second most with nine, one less than Germany’s 10. A team that includes Rodri and Fabian Ruiz in the midfield, two of the top performers of any player so far, leaves it hard to imagine any side dominating the game against them, and they have a brilliant chance of lifting the trophy if they can continue this momentum.
France to win Euro 2024, 5.75
France, similarly to England, have been lacklustre in the opening four games, advancing out of the group in second place with one win and two draws before narrowly beating Belgium 1-0 in the Last 16.
Despite that, their extreme experience of winning and progressing into major finals in recent years is sure to give them plenty of confidence of reaching the final, and it is understandable why many believe they are still likely to win the competition, especially with the likes of Kylian Mbappe.
Germany to win Euro 2024, 5.75
The hosts, Germany, have been superb in Euro 2024 up until this point, winning their group and beating Denmark comfortably 2-0 in the first knockout round with the most goals scored in the competition, 10, and the joint second least goals conceded, two.
Many doubted Germany were coming into the tournament in good enough form to win the tournament, but Julian Nagelsmann’s men have certainly proved those people wrong and their phenomenal squad has been playing some of the best football of any team.
With them also having huge numbers of supporters in the stadium’s due to being the home side, Germany have a brilliant chance to end their disappointing run in International football since their 2014 World Cup victory and lift the Euro’s 10 years on.
