Many of Europe’s domestic league seasons have yet to commence, with most teams just starting their pre-season schedules. However, for some, the competitive action is already underway as they participate in the qualification rounds for Europe’s domestic competitions.
The first legs of the first round of qualifying matches for both the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League took place last week, with the second legs throughout this week.
In this article, we’re going to specifically look at the Europa League fixtures and pick out our top tips and booking codes: (all markets 90 minutes only, available at time of writing)
Llapi vs Wisla Krakow
Wisla Krakow went into the first leg as strong favourites to earn a commanding lead to take into their trip to Kosovo, and they certainly did just that as they ran out 2-0 in a dominant display.
17 shots to Llapi’s six as well as holding 55% of the ball made for a comfortable first-leg performance, with an early goal from Igor Sapala setting the tempo after just two minutes before Angel Rodado added the second in the 95th minute.
While Llapi are likely to be much improved in their home stadium as they look to fight their way back into the tie, we expect that Wisla Krakow will show their quality once again and win this one.

Pafos vs Elfsborg
In a similar story to the first game, Elfsborg were favourites to come away with the win from the first leg and ultimately advance into the second round of qualifying. They did just that in the first leg as they took a commanding 3-0 lead, putting one foot into the second round.
15 shots to Pafos’ nine shows the game was a lot closer than the scoreline suggests, and two goals following a red card for Pafos may have been a key factor in the game ending 3-0. Pafos, similarly to Llapi, are likely to produce a better display in their home leg, but ultimately we believe that Elfsborg will once again prove too strong and pick up another victory.

Zira vs Sheriff Tiraspol
Despite being the dominant side in the first leg against Zira, Sheriff Tiraspol were unable to capitalise on their opportunities and Zira took a shock 1-0 lead in the 88th minute courtesy of a Davit Volkovi goal.
Sheriff had a majority of the chances in that game and will now have to travel to Azerbaijan in need of a two-goal turnaround if they are to make it through to the next round. While we do think that Zira will make it an extremely difficult encounter for their opponents, we believe that Sheriff will dominate a majority of the game as they fight to get back into the tie and eventually take the victory and progress into the next round.
Sheriff Tiraspol to win, 2.43
