Matchday three of the 2024/25 English Premier League is set to unfold this weekend, marking the final round of fixtures before the season’s first international break. With teams looking to secure their first wins of the season or continue building their early momentum, these matches promise intense battles.
In this article, we’re going to take a closer look at a selection of the matches and pick out our top tips and exclusive booking code: (odds available at time of writing)
Arsenal vs Brighton
Both Arsenal and Brighton have had extremely positive starts to the 2024/25 Premier League season, remaining as two of only four teams to have won both of their opening two fixtures.
Arsenal have secured 2-0 wins in both of their matches against Wolves and Aston Villa, though the latter could have taken at least a point away from the Gunners if Ollie Watkins had found the net from two point-blank chances. Brighton confidently beat Everton 4-0 on the opening day before a hard-fought game against Manchester United saw Joao Pedro score a stoppage-time winner to continue their winning start, while also beating Crawley Town in the EFL Cup.
With both teams in such good form coming into the game, while also sharing the spoils in recent Premier League meetings, Arsenal winning six and Brighton winning five of the last 14 league meetings, we expect this one to end all square.
Arsenal & Brighton to draw, 5.50
Newcastle vs Tottenham
Despite remaining unbeaten, Newcastle have struggled at the beginning of this season, narrowly beating a Southampton side 1-0 that dominated the entire 90 minutes, before managing to come from behind to secure a draw against Bournemouth after a dismal first 45 minutes saw them go behind.
Tottenham, on the other hand, looked impressive for large parts of their opener against Leicester City but were drawn back level when Jamie Vardy scored. However, they produced a fantastic performance against Everton in their last game, comprehensively beating them 4-0.
While Tottenham are the more in-form side heading into this one, Newcastle have comfortably beaten Tottenham 4-0 and 6-1 in the last two meetings at St James’ Park, leading us to believe the hosts will win this one.
Newcastle to win, 2.53
Manchester United vs Liverpool
Mohamed Salah has an unbelievable record against Manchester United, scoring 14 times in the 15 appearances he has made against the Red Devils across all competitions since joining Liverpool.
The forward has also started this season in top form, already netting twice in the opening two matches while assisting a further goal. With Liverpool and Salah looking strong when in the attack, and Man United appearing defensive vulnerable once again last time out against Brighton, we believe Salah will extend that fantastic record with another goal here.
Mohamed Salah to score anytime, 2.25
