The international break is over as we see a return to club football and there are some exciting fixtures set to be played in the English Premier League.
Here we identified five talking points for you to look out for ahead of all the action!
Final straw for Ange?
Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur face the tough task of Manchester City away on Saturday, and if results do not go their way then they could slip down to 13th in the league table.
Although Spurs might not be expected to get anything from the game, a loss would leave them in a real tough position and could leave Postecoglou’s job in jeopardy.
Amorim to change Utd’s fortune?
Ruben Amorim will take charge of Manchester United for the first time on Sunday and they travel to Portman Road to face Ipswich Town.
The Portuguese manager is highly rated across Europe and he is expected to make mass improvements for United, who currently sit 13th in the league standings. A new manager bounce is expected and it is important for Amorim to start his reign with a statement victory.
Liverpool to extend unbeaten run
Liverpool are currently on a 13 game unbeaten run in all competitions, and they are fully expected to continue this purple patch at the weekend when they face Southampton away from home.
The Saints have picked up just four points from a possible 33 so far and with the impressive form of Arne Slot’s side, we do not see this being a tough ask for the visitors.
Tough ask for Wolves
Wolverhampton Wanderers have won just once this season and that was against rock bottom Southampton, and they travel to a Craven Cottage on Saturday to face a strong Fulham side.
The hosts have picked up seven points in their last three games, so it will be a real tough ask for Wolves to face them away from home and get anything from the game.
Brighton to take Champions League spot
Brighton & Hove Albion have been impressive so far this term and they surprisingly beat Manchester City 2-1 at home in their most recent fixture.
If the Seagulls beat Bournemouth on Saturday, and results go their way, then they could climb into the top four in a Champions League spot and put themselves in a strong position as we head into the Christmas period.
