Real Madrid are currently in Saudi Arabia with hopes of lifting the 2025 Spanish Super Cup. Their first game of the competition went to plan after beating Real Mallorca 3-0 in the semi-final round on Wednesday.
Los Blancos’ arch-rivals Barcelona now await them in the final on Sunday, and Carlo Ancelotti’s side will have a major boost for the game, as Vinicus Junior’s suspension will not yet come into action.
The uncertainty over Vini’s availability came after his sending off in the La Liga victory over Valencia on January 3. Vini was shown a red card for hitting opposition goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski and faced an anxious wait to learn the outcome of his punishment.

To Real Madrid’s benefit, the Spanish federation ruled that the suspension only applies to La Liga, with the Brazilian set to miss two league games (at home to Las Palmas on January 19, away to Real Valladolid on January 25).
It means that the superstar will be available to play against Barcelona on Sunday in the Spanish Super Cup Final, as Real Madrid look to lift their second trophy of the season after winning the UEFA Super Cup in August. Vini was the star in this same fixture last season as his hat-trick inspired Real Madrid to a 4-1 win over their Clásico rival.
The Brazilian struck three times inside the opening 39 minutes to put Carlo Ancelotti’s side in firm control. This is a major boost for the Madrid side, and fans of the club will be hoping he can repeat the same feat, after being handed a boost by not being suspended for the game, following his red card against Valencia.
