As we start the new season, our first target is to focus on home advantage as teams are not settled yet.

For this weekend, we focus on the strengths of teams at home.

Southampton vs Wrexham

Southampton are looking to bounce right back into the top flight after a dismal 2024/25 season that saw them pick up just two English Premier League victories and 12 points.

Wrexham arrive in the second tier after a run of three consecutive promotions under Phil Parkinson, who is the longest-serving manager in the division this season.

It will be a big task for the newly promoted Wrexham.

West Brom vs Blackburn

With just three signings for West Brom, they look unambitious this season.

The second half of Blackburn’s 2024/25 campaign was nothing short of a rollercoaster and will be hoping to start well this season.

Sheffield United v Bristol City

Ruben Selles is the new manager of Sheffield United after Chris Wilder fails to gain promotion in the play-offs.

Bristol City will be looking for revenge when they travel to Bramall Lane this weekend after losing 6-0 on aggregate to Sheffield United in the play-off semi-finals.

The core of last season’s squad remains intact for the new campaign & this a big leverage for Sheffield United.

AZ vs Groningen

AZ and Groningen will kick off their 2025-26 Eredivisie campaign when they face each other at AFAS Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

AZ continued their strong presence in the Eredivisie by finishing in the top five for the eighth consecutive season last term.

In contrast, Groningen, in their first season back in the Eredivisie, finished in 13th place, suffering 15 losses, marking their second-worst placement across 12 previous top-flight seasons.

Utrecht vs Heracles

Utrecht and Heracles will kick off their 2025-26 Eredivisie campaigns with a match at Galgenwaard on Sunday afternoon.

Last season, Utrecht matched their highest Eredivisie finish of this century by ending the campaign in fourth place, a significant improvement from three consecutive seventh-place finishes.

In contrast, Heracles finished 14th for the second consecutive year, but they did manage to earn five more points and lose five fewer games than the previous season.

At home last season, Utrecht won more matches (9) than they lost (5 losses and 3 draws).

Salzburg vs Grazer FK

Both teams are struggling this season with bad results.

Salzburg have not in their last three games while Grazer has just a win in three games.

Salzburg have a good home record against Glazer and they should secure all 3 points.

Club Brugge vs Cercle Brugge

Club Brugge recorded a good away win in Europe against Salzburg ahead of this clash.

Anderlecht have started the season well as they top the Jupiler Pro League.

With two wins in two games, it will be a big task for Zulte-Waregem.

Zulte-Waregem sit in 13th with no wins in four games. This is not the start of the season they planned for.
