After an long summer without English Premier League football, the world’s most-watched domestic division makes its highly anticipated return at the end of this week, with reigning champions Liverpool getting things underway against Bournemouth on Friday night.
An action-packed weekend will follow, with eight matches split across Saturday and Sunday, promising plenty of entertainment and excitement as teams aim to get their campaigns off to a winning start.
Take a look at a selection of booking codes below with all odds at time of writing!
Aston Villa vs Newcastle United
Aston Villa and Newcastle United will both be expected to challenge for the Champions League places once again this season, but each of these teams have had difficult summers heading into this campaign.
The hosts have struggled to make signings due to PSR, while Newcastle have been consistently beaten to targets by rival teams and are now dealing with Alexander Isak rebelling against the club in an attempt to get his move to Liverpool.
However, unlike Villa, Newcastle’s struggles carried over to the pitch, failing to win any of their six pre-season matches as they lost four and drew two, and, alongside the Isak situation, that leaves the Magpies in a turbulent position coming into the season opener.
With Villa also boasting the home advantage, where they have defeated Newcastle in five of the last six meetings, we expect the Villans to get off to a winning start to the season.

Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Manchester City
Wolverhampton Wanderers are widely tipped to battle against relegation this season, while Manchester City are expected to return to the fight for the Premier League title after a disappointing 2024/25 campaign.
Given Wolves have lost both Rayan Ait-Nouri and Matheus Cunha, while Man City have significantly strengthened over the summer, the Citizens are the clear favourites to dominate Saturday’s encounter and earn all three points.
As Wolves also struggled defensively last season, conceding a massive 69 goals in 38 league fixtures, we anticipate the potential new-look Man City attack to score multiple goals and lead Pep Guardiola’s side to three points.

Crystal Palace vs Chelsea
Joao Pedro is one of several signings that Chelsea have made in an attempt to strengthen their squad this summer, and the Brazilian has made an instant impact on the pitch for the Blues.
Pedro joined halfway through Chelsea’s Club World Cup campaign and scored three goals in three appearances as they went on to lift the trophy, including both in their 2-0 semi-final win over Fluminense and one in the 3-0 final victory over Paris Saint-Germain.
His scoring form continued throughout pre-season, scoring against Bayer Leverkusen and AC Milan, and the Brazilian is expected to start on Sunday as a result of his prolific goalscoring form.
With his superb scoring streak heading into the clash, we are backing the brilliant Brazilian to continue impressing for the Blues and get on the scoresheet once again.

Manchester United vs Arsenal
In the biggest match of the entire weekend, old foes Manchester United and Arsenal will renew rivalries when they clash at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
While the Red Devils have strengthened significantly over the summer and will be eager to get off to a winning start as they aim to severely improve upon their 15th-placed finish last season, the Gunners have similarly reinforced their squad and are favourites heading into the encounter.
One of Arsenal’s signings was that of ruthless striker Viktor Gyokeres, who scored 97 goals in 102 appearances for Sporting Lisbon over the last two seasons and was once linked to former manager Ruben Amorim’s Reds.
It did not take long for Gyokeres to find his shooting boots for Arsenal, scoring in his third appearance against Athletic Bilbao, and the Swedish striker will now be eyeing a goal on his competitive debut for the club.
With Man United’s defensive frailties from last season still fresh in the memory, we are anticipating Gyokeres to do exactly that on Sunday, with the striker expected to get on the scoresheet.
