Osimhen, Boniface, Ndidi – Every Nigerian Transfer Of The 2025 Summer Window

The 2025 summer transfer window has now slammed shut for most of Europe’s top clubs, capping off months of drama, big-money moves and last minute surprises that kept fans on edge.

From headline-grabbing transfers to shock deadline day deals, it was another summer that helped reshape squads and will certainly set the tone and shape the season ahead.

Amid all the noise, a whole host of Nigerian players made their moves during the transfer window, and we look at all of the major moves.

Victor Osimhen – Galatasaray

Osimhen had a sensational 2024/25 season on loan at Galatasaray, scoring 37 goals and recording seven assists, earning the striker a permanent move to the club from Napoli for a huge £65m fee.

Victor Boniface – Werder Bremen (loan)

Boniface has suffered plenty of injuries since moving to Germany to play for Bayer Leverkusen, including featuring in just 27 matches last season, and the club eventually came to the agreement to allow the striker to move to Werder Bremen on loan.

Tolu Arokodare – Wolverhampton Wanderers

Arokodare enjoyed a superb season for Genk in 2024/25, finishing as the Belgian First Division top scorer with 21 goals, while he netted 23 and assisted five in 45 appearances across all competitions.

Having been linked with a move to a top European club throughout the summer, the striker eventually made a late move to join Wolverhampton Wanderers for a reported £23m.

Christantus Uche – Crystal Palace (loan)

Uche had a breakout campaign in 2024/25 for Getafe, scoring four and assisting six in his first 33 appearances in a top flight league, while his versatility also caught the eye of several top clubs across the continent.

A number of Premier League clubs fought for Uche’s signature on deadline day, with Crystal Palace eventually winning the race.

Wilfred Ndidi – Besiktas

After a number of years at Leicester City, the midfielder made his move away from the Foxes following their relegation, joining Besiktas.

Moses Simon – Paris FC

Simon has enjoyed six brilliant seasons in Ligue 1 for Nantes, but the forward has finally left the club to join Paris FC, and the Nigerian has already scored two and assisted one in his first three matches.

Gift Orban – Hellas Verona (loan)

Orban has struggled to live up to the brilliant promise shown in his earlier career, but the forward will aim to make good on his potential with a loan move to Hellas Verona.

Samuel Chukwueze – Fulham (loan)

Chukwueze has also struggled to reach the heights expected of him from earlier in his career, but the winger has secured a loan move to Fulham, where he will aim to light up the Premier League.

Fisayo Dele-Bashiru – Lazio

Dele-Bashiru impressed at Lazio last season, including scoring five and assisting three in 29 appearances, and the Italian club secured his permanent signature this summer.
