The Premier League served up the a dramatic midweek round. Leeds stunned Chelsea with a comeback win, Sunderland walked out of Anfield with a point, and we witnessed two goal-fests as Fulham v Manchester City produced nine goals and Brighton v Aston Villa delivered seven. With Manchester United hosting West Ham tonight to close out the round, managers barely have time to breathe before turning attention to Gameweek 15.

This is where the season begins to tighten. AFCON is coming, December rotation is looming, defensive performances are becoming harder to predict, and the league table remains chaotic at both ends.
Managers who react decisively this week can gain a big edge. Our XI for GW15 lines up in a 3-4-3, with a mix of form players, fixture picks and explosive differentials.
Goalkeeper
David Raya – Arsenal – 5.9m
Raya continues to look like the safest long-term play in FPL. Despite a tough trip to Villa Park this weekend, the Arsenal goalkeeper remains top of the league for clean sheets and overall points, producing yet another standout performance in midweek. His shot-stopping numbers remain exceptional and Arsenal’s defensive metrics project them to keep more clean sheets than any other side over the next five gameweeks. If your budget allows, Raya is a true set-and-forget option during a period where fixture congestion and rotation make every stable pick valuable.
Defenders
Matthijs de Ligt – Manchester United – 5.0m
De Ligt is the standout differential for GW15. Wolves have conceded more fouls than any other side this season, while Manchester United have quietly become one of the league’s most dangerous teams from set pieces. The Dutchman is already posting strong defensive contribution numbers and carries real goal threat whenever United pile bodies into the box. His low ownership makes him a high-upside punt, and with Wolves struggling badly, the clean sheet potential is just as appealing as the attacking upside.
Malick Thiaw – Newcastle – 5.0m
At just 1.9 percent ownership, Thiaw remains one of the most overlooked defenders in the game. Newcastle’s home fixture against Burnley is close to ideal, with Scott Parker’s side scoring only fifteen goals all season and continuing to struggle in aerial duels. Thiaw ranks highly for defensive actions, is posting 1.49 xGI so far and already looks overdue for an attacking return. For managers seeking a cheaper route to both clean sheet security and set-piece threat, Thiaw is a strong one-week play with long-term potential.
Daniel Muñoz – Crystal Palace – 6.0m
Muñoz is becoming impossible to ignore. Priced at six million and selected by over twenty percent of the game, he has delivered clean sheets and attacking returns at a remarkable rate, including back-to-back fourteen-point hauls against Wolves and Burnley. His role as a relentlessly forward-thinking right-back, combined with Palace’s defensive solidity, gives him a high floor and an explosive ceiling. Even against Manchester United, his combination of goal threat, defensive contributions and minutes security make him a strong selection.
Midfielders
Bryan Mbeumo – Manchester United – 8.6m
Mbeumo headlines a Manchester United midfield that looks primed for returns this week. Wolves have conceded twenty-nine goals in fourteen matches and will be without Joao Gomes, leaving them even more vulnerable in central areas. United’s recent improvement in build-up play suits Mbeumo’s movement perfectly, and his ability to arrive late in the box continues to make him a valuable asset. With United playing tonight, managers should monitor minutes and any knocks, but the upside against the bottom side in the table is significant.
Bruno Fernandes – Manchester United – 9.0m
Fernandes remains one of the safest midfield picks in the game. He is central to everything United create, ranks among the league leaders for shots and chances created, and remains first choice for penalties. Wolves’ defensive frailties make this fixture ideal for him, and his blend of attacking involvement and defensive contribution points only strengthens his floor. With United’s schedule softening, Fernandes is one of the standout captaincy outsiders for GW15 and one of the most reliable premium midfielders heading into the festive period.
Phil Foden – Manchester City – 8.2m
Foden enters GW15 in phenomenal form after scoring four times in his last two Premier League appearances. He remains one of the few City attackers trusted with consistent minutes, having started every match since Gameweek 4. Sunderland may have battled for their point at Anfield, but City at home remains one of the most favourable attacking fixtures in the league. With City expected to score multiple goals and Foden heavily involved in all phases of their attack, he is a priority pick once again.
Bruno Guimarães – Newcastle – 6.7m
Guimarães is one of the most under-appreciated midfield picks in FPL. He has returned in seven of his last eight matches, and his goal against Spurs in midweek underlined his excellent form. Newcastle’s home match against Burnley is tailor-made for his style, with his late runs and second-ball anticipation perfectly suited to breaking down deep, disorganised defences. With Newcastle’s attack flowing again and Guimarães playing with confidence, he looks an excellent mid-priced option for managers seeking both form and fixture.

Forwards
Erling Haaland – Manchester City – 14.9m
The most essential player in the game remains essential for another week. Haaland is now on fifteen goals and three assists for the season, and no player has a higher goal involvement rate or more consistent haul potential. Sunderland’s defence has exceeded expectations at times, but facing a City side ranked first for xG, shots in the box and big chances, the reality is simple: if City score multiple goals, Haaland is almost always involved. He is once again the leading captaincy pick for GW15.
Nick Woltemade – Newcastle – 7.4m
Woltemade continues to deliver excellent value. With five goals and two assists so far, and with consistent ninety-minute outings, he enters the Burnley fixture in ideal form. Burnley remain among the worst sides in the league for goals conceded, big chances allowed and defensive organisation, making this a premium opportunity for Newcastle’s number nine. Woltemade is among the highest-projected forwards this week and is close to a must-have for managers looking to maximise upside without spending heavily.
Danny Welbeck – Brighton – 6.6m
Welbeck is fast becoming one of the most intriguing short-term forwards in FPL. Expected to return to the starting XI, he faces a West Ham defence that has conceded the second-most goals in the league and continues to struggle with basic defensive structure. Welbeck’s movement, penalty responsibilities and ability to exploit defensive lapses make him one of the best differential plays of the week. With Brighton’s attack producing chances at a high rate, Welbeck has serious haul potential in GW15.
