5 Anytime Goalscorer Bets to Put Your Money on This Weekend

It is always a good feeling to usher in the festive month with goals, and last weekend was a goal-fest across Europe. Our goal is to take advantage of the attacking overload we have enjoyed this season, especially as the games start to come thick and fast.

1. Phil Foden vs. Sunderland

Manchester City served up the most exciting game of the season so far, coming out on top in a thrilling 5-4 victory against Fulham. City are the highest-scoring team in the Premier League this season with 32 goals in 14 games.

A major reason for their attacking explosion is Norwegian goal machine Erling Haaland. The 25-year-old is the league’s top scorer with 15 goals already and should be an easy pick.

However, we believe there is better value in backing Phil Foden to score anytime against Sunderland this weekend. He scored twice in the win against Fulham to make it four goals in his last two games.

2. Harry Kane vs. Stuttgart

Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich face a Stuttgart team in fine form but are still favourites to take all three points. Vincent Kompany’s men are comfortably eight points clear at the top but will be wary of a rapidly improving Stuttgart team.

Bayern have beaten Stuttgart 71 times, marking the best head-to-head record in Bundesliga history, and have won five of the last six meetings between both sides.

The expectation for this game is a high-scoring affair, as the Bavarians’ tally of 44 league goals is the best in all top five European leagues. Our goalscorer pick is the league’s top scorer, Harry Kane. He is on a mini goal-drought (two games without a goal), and we expect him to bounce back and add to his tally of 14 league goals in 12 matches.

3. Lionel Messi vs. Vancouver

Inter Miami will be desperate to secure their first major title since their explosion on the MLS scene with Lionel Messi and company.

The major narrative building is a rivalry between Messi and Vancouver’s Thomas Muller; two legends who have faced off numerous times for both club and country since 2010, and there is a compelling feeling that either player could prove decisive in the final.

However, Inter Miami’s recent attacking form is incredible. Javier Mascherano’s men have scored a remarkable 30 goals in their last eight games, with Messi himself netting 13 of those.

Given his history, he is clearly the man for the biggest moments, making him an excellent value bet for the anytime goalscorer pick.

4. Ferran Torres vs. Real Betis

Barcelona are the highest scorers in La Liga, and after a bit of a stumble over the past month, Hansi Flick’s men are returning to their best form. They defeated Atletico Madrid 3-1 in mid-week to take control of the league table, and their record against Betis (6 wins in last 8) suggests this could be another good weekend for Hansi Flick’s men.

The goals have been shared at Barcelona this season with Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres, both having eight league goals at this stage. However, our pick this weekend is Torres, who came off the bench to score against Atletico, and seems to always pop up with crucial goals, especially in La Liga.

5. Kylian Mbappe vs. Celta Vigo

Real Madrid returned to winning ways after the weekend’s draw against Girona, dispatching Athletic Bilbao 3-0 to get their title race back on track. Kylian Mbappe scored a brace to take his tally for the season to an incredible 25 goals in just 20 games.

Los Blancos welcome Celta Vigo to the Bernabeu this weekend, and their record at home this season reads eight wins out of eight, making an upset here unlikely.

Mbappe should be among the goals again; backing him to score is one of the safest bets you can make this season. He has nine goals in his last six games and isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
