Pooja’s Tips: Different Options For The Weekend

This is December where games come thick & fast.

This is the period that exposes the strength of the team as well as the squad depth.

The selections for the weekend are below:

 Wolfsburg vs Union Berlin

Wolfsburg were minutes away from securing a much-needed confidence-boosting win against Eintracht Frankfurt last weekend when Michy Batshuayi levelled from the spot.

Union Berlin conceded twice in second-half stoppage time in gameweek 12 as Rani Khedira’s opener was rendered obsolete in a heartbreaking 2-1 home defeat to FC Heidenheim.

Wolfsburg will be with much confidence as they ended their losing streak last weekend.

PREDICTION: Over 1.5 Goals at 1.28

RB Leipzig vs Frankfurt

RB Leipzig were forced to settle for a point against Borussia Mönchengladbach last weekend in the Bundesliga as the two sides played out a goalless draw.

Eintracht Frankfurt were heading for a frustrating home defeat against a woefully out-of-form Wolfsburg side in gameweek 12 before Michy Batshuayi rescued a point from the penalty spot deep inside stoppage time.

RB Leipzig have not at their home in 6 matches & this will be a tough call for Frankfurt

PREDICTION: Both teams to score at 1.41

Dortmund vs Hoffenheim

Dortmund recorded an impressive win over Bayer Levekusen last weekend with goals from Aaron Anselmino and Karim Adeyemi.

However, Borussia Dortmund suffered defeat against the same side in the DFB-Pokal in midweek. The hosts are now unbeaten in five in the Bundesliga heading into gameweek 12.

Hoffenheim roared to a 3-0 win against Augsburg last weekend, dealing the final blow to manager Sandro Wagner, who was sacked as a result of the defeat.

This fixture should produce goals.

PREDICTION: Both teams to score at 1.40

Utrecht vs FC Twente

Utrecht return to Stadion Galgenwaard looking to reassert their strong home identity after a 2–2 draw away at Go Ahead Eagles, a result that extended their unbeaten domestic run to three matches.

Twente arrive one point behind, in 8th place, following a crucial 1–0 home victory over AZ Alkmaar.

Both teams enter this match carrying mid-table momentum but aware of the stakes: a win would shape the early winter table and potentially strengthen a push for the European places.

PREDICTION: Both teams to score at 1.59

AZ Alkmaar vs Go Ahead Eagles

AZ sit 4th with 24 points from 14 matches, but arrive with a form line that reads L–L–L–W–W.

Go Ahead Eagles travel in better rhythm than their 11th-place ranking suggests. Their past five matches bring D–L–W–L–W.

Both sides enter with clear tendencies: AZ dominate the ball and produce sustained attacking sequences at home, while Eagles tend to become stretched away

PREDICTION: AZ to win at 1.43

Sparta Rotherdam vs NAC Breda

Sparta sit 12th with 17 points from 14 matches and arrive with a form line of L–D–L–L–W.

NAC Breda arrive in Rotterdam in greater difficulty. Hoefkens’ team are 17th with 12 points from 14 games, and their last five league outings bring L–L–L–W–D.

Sparta rediscovering momentum, NAC scrambling for stability — this matchup looks likely to hinge on the hosts’ ability to set an early attacking rhythm.

PREDICTION: Sparta to win either halves at 1.53

Newcastle vs Burnley

Newcastle were moments away from a third win on the bounce against Tottenham on Tuesday before they were stunned by Cristian Romero’s last-gasp equaliser.

Burnley are quickly discovering how tough the Premier League can be after suffering a fifth consecutive defeat against Crystal Palace, which leaves them four points from safety.

The Clarets have never won a Premier League at St James’ Park in seven previous attempts.

PREDICTION: Newcastle to win at 1.30

PSG vs Rennes

After suffering a 1-0 defeat away to Monaco last time out, PSG have slipped down to second place in the Ligue 1 table. Lens have overtaken them, but it remains tight at the top, with PSG just one point behind heading into the weekend.

Rennes are on an impressive run of form, winning four games in a row in Ligue 1. That puts them in fifth place before the weekend, and a win could take them into the top four if results go their way.

PSG and Rennes went head-to-head three times last season, once in the Coupe de France and twice in Ligue 1. PSG won all three games against Rennes, meaning they are unbeaten in four meetings.

PREDICTION: PSG to win at 1.32
