M’Gladbach vs Wolfsburg

Borussia Mönchengladbach’s rapid rise continued in gameweek 13 as a Danny da Costa own goal proved enough to send them home from the MEWA Arena with all three points.

Wolfsburg scored three goals inside the first hour of their contest with Union Berlin last week as Daniel Bauer’s side cruised to a 3-1 home victory.

Wolfsburg just returned to winning ways & this trip is too soon for them.

Frankfurt vs Augsburg

Frankfurt struggled to contain the attacking threat of Yan Diomande last weekend as the winger’s hat-trick sparked a 6-0 win for RB Leipzig and it has been a difficult week for them.

Augsburg struck twice inside the opening 28 minutes against Bayer Leverkusen last weekend as goals from Dimitrios Giannoulis and Anton Kade sealed a 2-0 win on home soil. The hosts have won two of their previous three league games, but have picked up just one point from a possible 15 in their last five on the road.

Bayer Levekusen vs Cologne

Bayer Leverkusen were shell-shocked by Augsburg in gameweek 13 as two first-half goals proved enough to sink Martin Hjulmand’s side.

In-form forward Said El Mala scored again last weekend as FC Köln looked to be heading for victory against a free-falling St. Pauli side before Ricky-Jade Jones equalised deep into stoppage time.

They will be hoping to return to winning way after a draw with Newcastle in the Champions League.

FC Twente vs Go Ahead Eagles

FC Twente welcome Go Ahead Eagles to De Grolsch Veste aiming to extend an unbeaten sequence that has quietly pushed John van den Brom’s side back into the European conversation.

Go Ahead Eagles arrive in Enschede looking for stability after alternating between spirited attacking displays and defensive vulnerability.

Twente will look to maintain structure and patient build-up, while Go Ahead must find a way to protect their box more effectively without sacrificing the threat that makes them dangerous on the break.

Atletico Madrid vs Valencia

Atletico Madrid were on a phenomenal run of form in La Liga, but they’ve started to slip over the last couple of weeks. They’ve now lost two games on the bounce, beaten by Barcelona and Athletic Club.

Valencia have won just once in their previous six games, and they sit in 16th position heading into the weekend.

Atletico Madrid did the double over Valencia last season, winning both games 3-0.

Coventry City vs Bristol City

Coventry were handed an open goal on Tuesday night when Liam Lindsay was sent off for Preston in the 39th minute, but the Sky Blues could only bring home a point from Deepdale – a ground they’ve never won a league game at. Frank Lampard’s side have failed to win back-to-back league games, and have seen their lead at the top trimmed to just five points.

Bristol City had a mountain to climb heading into the half-time break on Wednesday night after conceding twice to Leicester, but the Robins produced a spirited comeback to rescue a point at Ashton Gate.

Coventry will be hoping to return to winning ways after dropping points in their last two games.

Middlesborough vs QPR

Middlesbrough enjoyed another fast start on Tuesday night as first-half goals from Riley McGree and Morgan Whittaker condemned Charlton to a fifth straight Championship defeat.

QPR looked to have thrown away two points when they conceded to Birmingham in the 93rd minute on Tuesday, but Kieran Morgan scored at the other end three minutes later to snatch a victory.

Middleborough need to win to continue to mount pressure on Coventry.

Brentford vs Leeds Utd

Brentford are desperately looking for consistency right now, epitomised by five wins and five defeats from their last 10 Premier League outings.

Pressure has been mounting on Daniel Farke until Leeds turned what appeared to be a daunting week into a memorable one with four points from games against Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool.

Leeds have fond memories of Brentford with a 2-1 victory on the final day of the 2021-2022 season, keeping them in the Premier League – although that’s their only win in this part of West London in the last 75 years.
