The first set of Champions League play-offs will be decided tonight.
After explosive first legs filled with comebacks, defensive lapses and late drama, four ties remain delicately poised. Atlético Madrid were pegged back in Belgium, Inter must respond after being stunned in Norway, and Newcastle look to finish the job at St James’ Park.
This is the stage where composure matters, where home atmospheres shift momentum, and where one moment can define an entire European campaign. Here are our predictions for tonight’s decisive second legs.

Atlético Madrid vs Club Brugge – 6:45pm
First Leg Score: 3-3
The first leg had everything.
Atlético raced into a 2-0 lead through Julian Alvarez and Ademola Lookman, only for Club Brugge to roar back and earn a dramatic 3-3 draw. Raphael Onyedika’s impact and Christos Tzolis’ late equaliser left this tie perfectly balanced.
In Madrid, the dynamic changes. Diego Simeone’s side are far more aggressive and controlled at home, and with the crowd behind them, they should dictate tempo from the start. Brugge will not sit back — they have shown they can hurt Atlético — but managing transitions at the Metropolitano is a different challenge.
Prediction: Atlético Madrid 2-0 Club Brugge
Atlético’s experience and home intensity should prove decisive.
Bayer Leverkusen vs Olympiacos – 9pm
First Leg Score: 2-0 Leverkusen
Leverkusen take a two-goal advantage into this second leg after a composed first-leg display.
Olympiacos created chances in Greece but were punished by clinical finishing. Now they must chase the game in Germany — and that could play into Leverkusen’s hands.
Kasper Hjulmand’s side are comfortable controlling possession and exploiting space when opponents push forward. Olympiacos will believe they can score, but keeping Leverkusen out for 90 minutes looks unlikely.
Prediction: Bayer Leverkusen 2-1 Olympiacos
The Germans progress with authority.
Inter vs Bodo/Glimt – 9pm
First Leg Score: 3-1 Bodo/Glimt
This is the most intriguing tie of the night.
Inter were stunned in Norway, losing 3-1 on an artificial pitch that has troubled many visitors. Now they must overturn a two-goal deficit at San Siro.
The Italian champions are a completely different proposition at home. Expect relentless pressure, early intensity and far more control in midfield. Bodø/Glimt are fearless and technically sharp, but defending deep in Milan for 90 minutes is a different test entirely.
Prediction: Inter 3-1 Bodo/Glimt
This one could go all the way – extra time would not be a surprise.

Newcastle vs Qarabag – 9pm
First Leg Score: 6-1 Newcastle
Newcastle hold a commanding advantage after their dominant first-leg display.
Anthony Gordon and company were ruthless, and while the tie may look done on paper, UCL knockouts under the lights are rarely a place for complacency.
Qarabag have nothing to lose and may come out swinging, but Newcastle’s pace and physicality should be too much once again.
Prediction: Newcastle 3-0 Qarabag
Comfortable progression for the Magpies.
