Last weekend was almost perfect for our Bet9ja online betting community as we hit 4/5 on our goalscorer picks. Alexander Sorloth failed to carry on his recent scoring form, costing us a full house.

The English Premier League is our focus for the midweek action, and we have researched the best value bets in the goalscorer market, just for you.

Igor Thiago vs Bournemouth

Brentford are one of the most exciting teams in the league and are coming off a seven-goal thriller after beating Burnley 4-3 at the weekend. Whatever happens here, Bournemouth are unlikely to keep a clean sheet against a side that has scored eight goals in their last four games.

Our pick for anytime goalscorer is Brentford’s Igor Thiago, who scored his 18th Premier League goal of the season on Saturday. The Brazilian has scored seven of these in his last nine games, and he found the net in their League Cup tie at the Vitality Stadium earlier this season.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin vs Sunderland

Leeds were made to pay for squandering several good chances against Manchester City on Saturday but will fancy themselves to bounce back with a home win against Sunderland this week. Leeds have scored in 10 of their last 12 home games, which gives us confidence that they will register here. Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who missed the two best chances they created on Saturday, continues to perform at a high level with nine goals in his last 15 games. He looks like a solid bet for anytime goalscorer.

Hugo Ekitike vs Wolves

Liverpool have won four straight games ahead of this visit to the side propping up the table, thanks to a 5-2 win over 18th-placed West Ham on Saturday. Arne Slot’s men were imperious in that game, with goals flowing from all directions. Wolves may be a different, tighter contest, but we still expect the Reds to have just about enough to take all three points. Hugo Ekitike is our pick to score anytime. The Liverpool forward has seven goals in his last 10 games and contributed massively again at the weekend.

Antoine Semenyo vs Nottingham Forest

Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo has been a huge part of Manchester City’s assault on Arsenal’s lead at the top of the standings, with six goals in 11 games since arriving from Bournemouth. Semenyo was once again the difference, scoring the winner against Leeds at the weekend. City need to beat Forest at the Etihad on Wednesday and, with Erling Haaland battling an injury, expect Semenyo to be once again in the thick of the action for Pep Guardiola’s men.

Lamine Yamal vs Atletico Madrid

Overturning a four-goal deficit is a highly unlikely task for any club, but Barcelona are the highest-scoring club in Spain, averaging three goals per game at the Camp Nou, which at least suggests we should see some goals. Lamine Yamal scored a hat-trick at the weekend and should be buzzing to keep that run going, especially against an Atletico team that had to grind out a win in midweek and may be struggling with fatigue. The full-time result isn’t our focus, thankfully, but we are backing Yamal to keep his red-hot form going.
