Nike unveil bold new Super Eagles kits for 2026 season

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have a fresh look heading into their next chapter, with global sportswear giant Nike officially unveiling the national team’s new home and away kits.

The announcement dropped via the team’s official X account on Monday, giving fans their first look at designs that once again lean into Nigeria’s reputation for some of the most distinctive kits in world football.

The release comes at a bittersweet moment for supporters, with excitement around the new jerseys contrasted by the disappointment of Nigeria’s failure to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Still, with a talented squad and upcoming international fixtures on the horizon, the new kits signal the start of a reset.

A bold new look for the Super Eagles

The new home kit immediately stands out with a vibrant light green base, layered with darker green panel detailing and a subtle dotted fade pattern that adds depth to the design.

It is a look that feels both modern and unmistakably Nigerian, continuing a tradition of kits that go beyond the pitch and into streetwear culture. Nike themselves described the jersey as a design that “makes a statement far beyond the field”, and it is easy to see why.

The Nigeria Football Federation crest sits proudly on the chest alongside the Nike swoosh, maintaining the identity fans have come to associate with the Super Eagles in recent years.

Clean but striking away design

While the home kit leans into bold colour, the away version takes a different approach with a clean white base.

What elevates it, though, is the dynamic green flame graphic rising from the lower body across the front, back and sleeves. It gives the shirt movement and energy, without losing the simplicity that makes away kits so wearable.

A dark green shallow V-neck collar and black-trimmed cuffs complete the design, giving it a sharp, finished look.

The timing of the release is significant.

Nigeria are preparing for an upcoming four-team friendly tournament against Jordan, Iran and Costa Rica, which will offer a chance to build momentum after the disappointment of missing out on the 2026 World Cup.

Despite boasting attacking talent such as Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman, the Super Eagles fell short in dramatic fashion, losing on penalties to DR Congo in the CAF playoff final.

Now, with a new look and a point to prove, attention turns to how this team responds on the pitch.
