England could secure their place in the knockout stages tonight and, after what we saw against Croatia, I’m feeling pretty confident.
The 4-2 win wasn’t perfect defensively, but it was the most exciting England World Cup performance I’ve watched in years. We finally looked like a team willing to attack rather than play within ourselves.
Ghana will provide a different challenge, but I still fancy England to put on a show.

Harry Kane To Score 2+ Goals
Kane looked absolutely ruthless against Croatia.
His brace took him to 10 World Cup goals and reminded everyone why he remains England’s most important player. He has now scored in consecutive World Cup tournaments and continues to deliver when England need him most.
Ghana conceded 10 goals across the four matches before their win over Panama and I think Kane gets plenty of opportunities here. If England create chances like they did against Croatia, two goals is well within reach.
Jude Bellingham To Score
Bellingham finally ended his international goal drought on matchday one and looked back to his best.
Four of his seven England goals have now come at major tournaments, which tells you something about his mentality on the biggest stage. The freedom Tuchel is giving him to arrive late into the box is creating dangerous situations constantly.
I can see him getting on the scoresheet again.
Anthony Gordon 1+ Shot On Target
Gordon caused Croatia all sorts of problems with his pace and direct running. Every time he got the ball he looked like making something happen.
Ghana struggled against direct attackers in their opener and England will surely look to isolate Gordon against defenders one-on-one. If he keeps playing with the same confidence, I expect him to test the goalkeeper at least once.
Red Card In The Game
This might sound ambitious, but the tournament trends are impossible to ignore.
We’ve already seen seven red cards in the World Cup so far, more per game than any of the last four tournaments. The new rule around players covering their mouths during confrontations has also created extra opportunities for dismissals.
England have plenty of direct runners who draw fouls, while Ghana know a defeat could leave them in a difficult position heading into the final group game.
All it takes is one flashpoint.
