Spain have been the most complete team left in this tournament.
We’ve won our last four matches, kept five consecutive clean sheets, and even found a way past Portugal when the game remained level after 90 minutes. Belgium have improved enormously since the group stage, but they still needed a dramatic comeback against Senegal before beating the USA.

This feels like Yamal’s game.
He’s cleared this line in three of his last four World Cup appearances, recording shots-on-target totals of 2, 4, 0 and 2, and averages 1.8 shots on target per game across his last ten competitive starts for Spain.
Belgium will struggle to stop him without giving him opportunities to shoot.
Lamine Yamal Anytime Assist
His first World Cup assist feels overdue.
Yamal has already delivered 26 crosses at this tournament, placing him joint-seventh among all players, and everything creative in this Spain side tends to flow through him.
If Oyarzabal continues finding space inside the box, I think Yamal finally gets the assist his performances deserve.
Maxim De Cuyper To Be Booked
This selection is all about the individual battle.
De Cuyper is likely to spend the evening trying to contain Yamal, and that’s one of the toughest jobs in world football right now. Belgium are also without the protection Amadou Onana normally provides in midfield, meaning their full-backs will be exposed more often.
Stopping Yamal usually means fouling him, and I think De Cuyper ends up in the referee’s notebook.
Diego’s Prediction
Belgium have shown incredible spirit to reach this stage, but I think Spain have looked a level above everyone they’ve faced.
If we continue controlling possession and creating chances through Yamal, I can see another professional performance.
