Everyone will focus on Harry Kane versus Erling Haaland, but the Norway v England game is about far more than two strikers. Norway have been one of the stories of the tournament and fully deserve to be here, but England finally looked like themselves against Mexico.

England To Win

This is England’s toughest test so far, but I think we’re ready for it.

The performance against Mexico was comfortably our best of the tournament and showed what this team can do when opponents actually come out and play. England have now won 15 of their last 16 competitive matches and opened the scoring in 14 of those 16.

Norway are a brilliant side, but I still think England have more quality across the pitch.

Harry Kane Anytime Goalscorer

Kane just keeps delivering.

He’s already scored six goals at this World Cup, including three in his last two matches, and now has an incredible 85 goals in 119 England appearances.

Norway haven’t kept a clean sheet in any of their five World Cup matches, so I fancy our captain to add another.

Erling Haaland Anytime Goalscorer

Unfortunately, I can’t ignore Haaland either.

He’s scored in every World Cup game he’s played, with seven goals in four appearances, and has now found the net in 14 consecutive international matches, scoring 27 goals during that run.

England know him well from the Premier League, but stopping him is another matter.

Jude Bellingham To Score Or Assist

Bellingham is becoming England’s tournament player.

His brace against Mexico took him to four goals and one assist at this World Cup, while he and Kane have combined for 10 of England’s 11 goals.

Everything good we’re doing seems to involve one of those two.

Anthony Gordon 2+ Shots

Gordon was outstanding at the Azteca.

He won the penalty for England’s third goal, has attempted at least one shot in every World Cup appearance, and looks full of confidence after two excellent knockout performances.

Against Norway’s high defensive line, I expect him to attack whenever he gets the chance.

Over 3.5 Goals

I think this one could be a classic.

Seven of Norway’s last nine competitive matches have produced at least five goals, while England looked far more dangerous once teams started attacking us rather than sitting in a low block.

With Kane and Haaland on the same pitch, backing goals feels the obvious play.

Jack’s Prediction

Norway will cause problems, there’s no doubt about that.

But England finally look like they’ve found the right balance going forward, and I think our extra quality gets us over the line.
