Newcastle United have made a strong start to the season, remaining unbeaten after two matches with a 2-2 draw against Liverpool and a 2-0 win over Tottenham. Bournemouth are still looking for their first victory, but they have scored in both games, losing 2-1 to Manchester City before drawing 1-1 with Everton.
This fixture has the ingredients for another entertaining game, with both teams showing attacking quality and Bournemouth struggling to keep clean sheets. Newcastle’s last 12 home league games have also seen both teams score, while the last three meetings between these sides at St James’ Park produced 12 goals.
PREDICTION – Over 2.5 goals @ 1.57 odds
NOTTINGHAM FOREST VS TOTTENHAM
Nottingham Forest are still searching for their first league win of the season, but they showed good attacking character in their 2-2 draw away to Liverpool last weekend, twice taking the lead. Tottenham, meanwhile, have endured a difficult start, losing their opening two Premier League games against Brentford and Newcastle without scoring a goal.
Despite Spurs’ early struggles in front of goal, this fixture could be a chance for both attacks to find their rhythm. Forest have shown they can create chances against strong opposition, while Tottenham have plenty of attacking quality and will be desperate to respond. The last three meetings have produced 7 goals.
PREDICTION – Both teams to score @ 1.72 odds
INTER VS NAPOLI
Inter Milan have made a perfect start to their Serie A title defence, winning both of their opening matches against Monza and Cagliari. The Nerazzurri have also looked strong at home, while Napoli suffered a setback last weekend with a 2-1 defeat to Como after opening the season with a win over Genoa.
This will be a tough test between the last two Serie A champions, but Inter have the advantage of playing at San Siro and come into the game with greater momentum. Napoli have also struggled to beat Inter in Milan in recent league meetings, and Inter are unbeaten in their last seven home H2Hs.
PREDICTION – Inter to win @ 1.68 odds
SCHALKE 04 VS BAYERN MUNICH
Schalke come into this game looking to bounce back after a 3-0 defeat to Augsburg in their Bundesliga opener. Bayern Munich, meanwhile, started their campaign with a victory and have continued their strong attacking form, most recently putting four goals past Osnabrück in the DFB-Pokal.
Bayern have dominated this fixture in recent years, winning the last six meetings, including a 6-0 victory in their most recent encounter. Five of those six meetings produced at least three goals, while both teams have already recorded high-scoring games this season. With Bayern’s attacking firepower and Schalke’s defensive concerns, it looks like a match made for goals.

SUNDAY 6 SEPTEMBER
VALENCIA VS BARCELONA
Valencia have had a difficult start to the La Liga season, collecting just one point from their opening three matches and scoring only two goals. Barcelona, meanwhile, have been in excellent attacking form, winning all three league games and scoring 12 goals, including a 5-0 win over Elche and a 5-2 victory against Rayo Vallecano.
Goals should be expected at Mestalla, with Barcelona’s attack in excellent form and the last five meetings between these sides producing 26 goals, with all five going over 2.5. Valencia also beat Barcelona 3-1 in the last meeting, showing they can contribute to an open game.
PREDICTION – Over 2.5 goals @ 1.35 odds
ARSENAL VS CHELSEA
Arsenal have made a perfect start to their Premier League campaign, winning both of their opening matches and keeping clean sheets against Coventry City and Aston Villa. Chelsea have also won their first two league games, scoring seven goals, although they have conceded five in the process. Both sides come into this London derby in good attacking form.
Chelsea’s attacking trio of Cole Palmer, Morgan Rogers and João Pedro have looked dangerous, while Arsenal have enough quality in attack to trouble a Chelsea defence that has already shown some vulnerability. Despite Arsenal’s strong recent record against Chelsea, the visitors have scored in their opening games, making this a potentially open contest.
PREDICTION – Both teams to score @ 1.69 odds
JUVENTUS VS MILAN
Juventus have made a perfect start to the Serie A season, winning both of their opening games against Frosinone and Parma without conceding. Milan have also won both matches, beating Torino 2-1 before a 2-0 victory over Venezia. Both sides come into this big clash with six points and plenty of confidence.
This should be a competitive encounter between two in-form teams, with both attacks capable of making an impact. While recent meetings have often been tight, Milan have scored in both league games this season, and Juventus have also found the net in each of theirs, with both teams starting strongly.
