England vs Spain
Newly-crowned world champions Spain have made it to the last two UEFA Nations League finals, and will be eager to kick off the 2026-27 edition with a win against England at Wembley.
Thomas Tuchel’s England, still reeling from their heartbreaking defeat to Argentina at the World Cup, will have sufficient motivation to perform on home soil, and with the incredible amount of talent on display, we could be in for some goals.

Austria vs Israel
Austria, under the ever-capable Ralf Rangnick, have won six of their last seven home fixtures, which should give them a boost in their Nations League opener against Israel.
However, defensive issues could haunt them again. They failed to keep a single clean sheet in four games at the World Cup, and just three clean sheets in their last seven games.
Israel conceded 17 goals across their defeats to Norway and Italy in World Cup qualifying, so there should be goals in this one.

Portugal vs Wales
Portugal’s disappointing exit at the World Cup brought an end to Roberto Martinez’s time in charge, and new manager Jorge Jesus will be desperate to start his tenure on a winning note.
While Portugal are undoubtedly favourites against Wales this weekend, the value bet here should be on goals. Wales are on a seven-game scoring streak, and even in defeat, we are backing them to keep that run going.

Montenegro vs Cyprus
Montenegro have been solid in recent games, winning four of their last seven, and will be confident of beginning their Nations League campaign with a win against Cyprus.
Cyprus have been extremely inconsistent over the past year, with eight defeats, three wins and three draws in their last 14 competitive fixtures. They have also never defeated Montenegro in five meetings, making this an even tougher task.

Norway vs Denmark
Norway were one of the surprise packages of the World Cup, led by Erling Haaland’s unstoppable goalscoring, and they will be favourites in their Nations League opener against Denmark.
Stale Solbakken’s side won four of their six World Cup games and have lost just twice in 90 minutes since November 2024, against France and the Netherlands.
Denmark failed to qualify for the World Cup and have struggled to get results against quality opposition. Our best bet is a win for the hosts.
