The Premier League is packed with pace, but who has actually been the fastest player in 2026/27?
After five rounds of matches, the official Premier League data has revealed the highest top speeds recorded this season – and there are plenty of new faces near the top.
Four of the five quickest players are playing their first Premier League season, while the gap between first and second is surprisingly large.
Here are the 10 fastest Premier League players of 2026/27 so far:
10. Kristoffer Ajer – Brentford – 35.08km/h
A centre-back might not be the first player you expect to see in a ranking dominated by pace, but Kristoffer Ajer sneaks into the top 10.
The Brentford defender reached 35.08km/h against Leeds United, making him the fastest Bees player recorded this season.
9. Mathias Fernandez-Pardo – Newcastle – 35.13km/h
Newcastle summer signing Mathias Fernandez-Pardo has quickly demonstrated his speed in the Premier League.
He reached 35.13km/h against Leeds, putting him ninth overall and making Newcastle one of only two clubs with multiple players inside the top 10.
8. Rayan – Bournemouth – 35.14km/h
Just 0.01km/h separates Fernandez-Pardo from Bournemouth’s Rayan.
The Brazilian reached a top speed of 35.14km/h against Manchester City, earning him eighth place in the early-season rankings.
7. Jacob Murphy – Newcastle – 35.16km/h
The second Newcastle player to make the list is Jacob Murphy.
Murphy clocked 35.16km/h against Hull City, narrowly beating both Rayan and team-mate Fernandez-Pardo to seventh spot.

It should come as little surprise to see Pedro Neto among the Premier League’s quickest players.
The Chelsea winger hit 35.26km/h against Brighton, putting him joint-fifth in the league after five matches.

Level with Neto is Coventry City’s Milan van Ewijk.
The defender also reached 35.26km/h, recording his top speed against Hull City and making him the fastest Coventry player of the season so far.
4. Robinio Vaz – Hull City – 35.28km/h
Hull’s on-loan teenage striker Robinio Vaz has wasted little time showing what he can offer in the Premier League.
Vaz reached 35.28km/h against Chelsea, edging Neto and Van Ewijk and leaving him just outside the top three.
3. Gonzalo Garcia – Fulham – 35.34km/h
Another Premier League newcomer makes the podium.
Fulham centre-forward Gonzalo Garcia reached 35.34km/h against Liverpool, making him the third-fastest player in the competition so far.
Garcia’s work rate stands out too. He has made 79 sprints this season, which also places him among the Premier League’s top 10 for total sprints.
2. Bryan Mbeumo – Manchester United – 35.36km/h
Bryan Mbeumo has brought plenty of pace to Manchester United and currently sits second in the rankings.
Mbeumo reached 35.36km/h against Everton, only narrowly beating Garcia’s top speed.
Like Garcia, Mbeumo combines outright speed with repeated running. His 85 sprints are the sixth-most of any Premier League player this season.

Bradley Barcola is the fastest player in the Premier League this season – and by some distance.
The Liverpool summer signing hit a remarkable 35.93km/h on his Premier League debut against Ipswich Town, immediately setting a benchmark nobody has been able to match.
Mbeumo is his nearest challenger at 35.36km/h, meaning Barcola’s fastest sprint is 0.57km/h quicker than anyone else’s.
Five matches into the campaign, the Frenchman is comfortably setting the pace.
