The summer transfer market continues to heat up. Liverpool are circling Newcastle’s star striker, Spurs haven’t given up on a £60m swoop, and Napoli’s striker plans have just taken a surprising twist. Plus, there’s Nigerian interest across Europe. Let’s get into it.
Napoli Blow Up Osimhen Negotiations
Victor Osimhen’s proposed permanent move to Galatasaray has hit boiling point. Turkish journalist U?ur Karakullukçu has revealed that Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis bluntly shut down recent talks, reportedly telling intermediaries, “Tell these guys I’m not selling to Galatasaray. They should get lost.”
Despite Osimhen agreeing personal terms and publicly stating he wants the move, Napoli remain inflexible on payment structure and financial guarantees. Galatasaray continue to push but may now have to overcome more than just a transfer fee.

Fenerbahce Make First Move for Ndidi
Wilfred Ndidi could finally be on the way out of Leicester – and it might be Turkey, not the Premier League or Bundesliga, where he lands. Fenerbahce have opened talks with the Nigerian’s camp, with club president Ali Koç reportedly involved directly.
Ndidi has no desire to play Championship football again and has just one year left on his Leicester deal. The Foxes are said to want around £9.5m for the 28-year-old, with Muzzi Özcan acting as Fenerbahce’s lead agent in the talks.
Milan Eye Arokodare in €20m Striker Search
AC Milan have added Nigerian forward Tolu Arokodare to their shortlist of new strikers. The Genk star, who bagged 23 goals last season, is seen as a physically imposing option to rotate with new signing Santiago Gimenez.
Arokodare’s profile has drawn comparisons to Olivier Giroud, and his £17.3m valuation makes him more affordable than compatriot Victor Boniface, who remains Milan’s other major forward target.
Inter Join Lookman Race as Club World Cup Cash Kicks In
Inter Milan are the latest club to register interest in Atalanta star Ademola Lookman. The Super Eagles forward has been on the radar of Napoli, Atletico Madrid, and Barcelona this summer, and Inter are reportedly preparing an official bid.
Valued at £52m, Lookman has two years left on his deal and has refused to sign an extension. Atalanta could now cash in, with Inter flush with FIFA Club World Cup earnings and looking to strengthen under new boss Cristian Chivu.

Man Utd Hit New Wall in Mbeumo Pursuit
Manchester United’s pursuit of Bryan Mbeumo has stalled again. Brentford have now raised their asking price closer to £70m – above United’s maximum valuation of £65m. Sir Jim Ratcliffe is refusing to overpay and may now wait to offload one of Rashford, Sancho or Garnacho before resuming talks.
Mbeumo has reportedly told Brentford he wants to move to Old Trafford, but the Bees are digging in with contract control until 2026.
Sadiq’s Future in Doubt as Elche and Samsunspor Circle
Garba Lawal has urged Sadiq Umar to prioritise regular playing time as the Real Sociedad striker edges closer to an exit. Sadiq is attracting interest from Elche and Turkish side Samsunspor, with Sociedad reportedly ruling out another loan and open to a permanent transfer.
Liverpool Monitor Five-Forward Shortlist if Isak Bid Fails
With Liverpool’s big-money move for Alexander Isak facing resistance from Newcastle, the Reds are drawing up alternatives. Hugo Ekitike remains one option, but the club has also made enquiries for Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins, Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, Brentford’s Yoane Wissa, and Real Madrid’s Rodrygo.
Napoli Seal Lucca Deal After Dropping Nunez Pursuit
Napoli have officially pulled out of the race for Darwin Nunez and instead agreed a £30m deal with Udinese for Lorenzo Lucca. The 24-year-old Italian striker will join on loan with an obligation to buy, after scoring 23 goals in 75 appearances for the Bianconeri.
Brentford’s Hutchinson Bid Falls Short
Ipswich Town have rejected Brentford’s £35m offer for Omari Hutchinson, with the payment structure failing to meet the terms of his release clause. The bid was submitted just before the clause expired but did not include the upfront fee required.

Xhaka Linked with Premier League Return
Sunderland are plotting an ambitious move to bring Granit Xhaka back to the Premier League. The Leverkusen midfielder played a key role in their 2023/24 Bundesliga title win and remains under contract until 2027.
Spurs Still Set to Land Gibbs-White Despite Forest Fury
Tottenham’s move for Morgan Gibbs-White is back on track, despite Nottingham Forest reporting them to the Premier League for alleged tapping up. Spurs met the midfielder’s £60m release clause earlier this summer, and sources claim the deal will still be completed before the end of the window.
Jacob Ramsey Lined Up as Gibbs-White Successor
Nottingham Forest are eyeing Aston Villa’s Jacob Ramsey as a direct replacement for Morgan Gibbs-White. With Forest needing to balance the books for FFP compliance, Villa may be open to a sale – and the fee for the academy graduate would represent pure profit.
