4 Talking Points Ahead Of EPL Return

As the International break comes to a close, we look forward to the English Premier League returning for matchday five this weekend.

It has been an interesting start to the 2023/24 campaign, with several sides remaining unbeaten and some of the top sides dropping plenty of points early on.

Here’s four talking points ahead of the weekend’s action.

Unbeaten sides match up

West Ham United vs Manchester City

Manchester City make the trip to London on Saturday afternoon to face West Ham United and both sides have started the season unbeaten.

Pep Guardiola’s side have picked up maximum points from their opening four fixtures, but with the Hammers winning three times and drawing once, this one won’t be easy for the Manchester outfit.

Chelsea to bounce back?

Bournemouth vs Chelsea

Chelsea have had a disappointing start to the 2023/24 season, winning just once from their opening four games, and that was against newly promoted Luton Town.

The Blues match up against Bournemouth this weekend, so Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping that his side have enough quality within their ranks to beat the Cherries who have not won so far.

Chelsea to win: 1.77

Brighton to continue good start?

Manchester United vs Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton & Hove Albion have won three of their opening four fixtures, scoring three or more goals in these victories, and they match up against Manchester United on Saturday.

United have had a mixed start to the season winning twice and losing twice, so the Seagulls will certainly feel like they head into this one the more confident side. Brighton won 2-1 at Old Trafford last season and don’t be surprised to see a repeat result.

Everton shock result?

Everton vs Arsenal

Everton have had a torrid start to the Premier League season picking up just one point from a possible 12, with a -6 goal difference.

Arsenal will be fully expected to win this one, but Everton did beat the Gunners at Goodison Park last term, so they will come into this one with confidence knowing that they can get a result.

Everton win: 5.70
