Matchday one of this season’s UEFA Champions League saw an average of 3.7 goals per game, and we are expecting that goal blitz to continue this week.
Here are our top five goalscorer picks for this week’s UCL action.
Erling Haaland vs Monaco
The Norwegian has started the season in outstanding form, with nine goals in just seven matches. His brace at the weekend against Burnley was a display of ruthless finishing.
Monaco will be no pushovers, but they haven’t kept a single clean sheet this season, making it difficult to see how they can slow down City’s rampaging Norwegian.
We expect goals in this one, and backing Haaland to score is one of the smartest bets around.
Haaland to score anytime @1.80
Harry Kane vs Pafos
If you think Haaland to score is a great bet, Kane is an even better one. The Bayern Munich forward is determined to break all goalscoring records this season, and his return of at least two goals in six of his last seven games makes this pick a no-brainer.
Bayern Munich have won all eight games they’ve played this season, running out 4-0 winners against Werder Bremen on Friday night.
The Bavarians started their Champions League campaign with a 3-1 win over Chelsea. Tuesday’s visit to Cyprus could be even more one-sided.
Kane to score anytime @1.50
Julian Alvarez vs Eintracht Frankfurt
Frankfurt’s high-scoring start to the season continued with a thrilling 6-4 win against Borussia Mönchengladbach at the weekend. All seven of their matches this season have featured at least four goals, including their Champions League opener, which they won 5-1 against Galatasaray.
Atletico are also coming off a 7-goal thriller in their 5-2 win over Real Madrid, where Julian Alvarez scored a brace to keep his fine run going.
The Argentine forward has now scored five goals in his last two games, and we are backing him to find the net again on Tuesday night.
Alvarez to score anytime @2.15
Marcus Thuram vs Slavia Prague
Inter seem to be back in their groove after that 4-3 defeat to Juventus a few weeks ago. The Nerazzurri have now recorded three wins on the bounce and will be favourites to keep that run going against Czech side Slavia Prague at the San Siro.
Our analysis suggests this could be a low-scoring game as Inter have failed to score more than two goals in four of their last five matches.
Marcus Thuram is our pick to score anytime. He scored a brace in Inter’s UCL opening win over Ajax and should be fresh after being taken off after 64 minutes at the weekend against Cagliari.
Thuram to score anytime @2.20

Kylian Mbappe vs Kairat Almaty
Kairat Almaty’s difficult introduction to the UEFA Champions League continues with the arrival of 15-time winners Real Madrid.
The Spanish giants began their campaign with a 2-1 win over Marseille, but head to Kazakhstan on the back of a humbling 5-2 La Liga defeat to city rivals Atletico Madrid.
We expect them to bounce back big, and star player Kylian Mbappe, who has scored 10 goals in just eight games is our pick to score here. He is Real Madrid’s best bet of success in Europe this season, and we are backing him to keep his run going.
Mbappe to score anytime @1.35
