5 Midweek Goalscorer Bets To Put Your Money On

We’ve finally reached the business end of the UEFA Champions League, where the boys are separated from the men.

This week, some of our favourite teams and players may be sent packing, but regardless of the outcome, our goal at Bet9ja is to give you the best chance of winning.

After successfully hitting 4/5 with our last midweek goalscorer tips, we’re aiming to go a perfect 5/5 this time around. With the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Harry Kane in scintillating form, we must capitalise on their hot streaks.

Here are our top 5 goalscorer picks for this midweek’s action and you can bet on all five right here at Bet9ja!

Harry Kane vs Celtic

Many believed this UEFA Champions League (UCL) knockout round play-off tie between Bayern Munich and Celtic would be over after one leg, but that’s not the case. Bayern only managed a 2-1 win in the first leg and anything can happen in this competition, as we have seen over the years.

However, their phenomenal 20-match unbeaten run in UCL home matches (W16, D4) suggests they should get the job done with little fuss here.

Bayern star man Harry Kane has scored 29 goals in 29 games this season, including the winning goal in the first leg, and if there’s one player you can count on to deliver the goods, Kane is that man.

Kylian Mbappe vs Manchester City

It’s safe to say that Real Madrid are favourites to knock Manchester City out of the Champions League for the third time in four seasons, and history is on their side, as they’ve progressed on 37 of the 39 occasions when they’ve won the first leg of a UCL tie away from home.

They’re also ruthless at the Bernabeu, scoring at least once in 77 of their last 78 Champions League home games.

Kylian Mbappé, who scored in the first leg, has been in scintillating form, scoring 11 goals in 10 games since the turn of the year.

Despite Manchester City’s impressive 4-0 win over Newcastle at the weekend, their defence is clearly not equipped to deal with an attack as strong as Real’s. We expect Mbappé to score again.

Mohamed Salah vs Aston Villa

Let’s step away from Champions League football for a second, as Liverpool continue their march towards the English Premier League title.

The Reds secured a hard-fought 2-1 win over Wolves at the weekend, and Salah was on target for his 23rd league goal of the season.

Aston Villa are no pushovers and will be hard to beat, especially at home, but their record in this fixture leaves plenty to be desired.

Unai Emery’s men have beaten Liverpool just once in the last 12 meetings, and it’s hard to see them getting a result here.

Salah has scored seven penalties this season, which is also a major factor to consider, and a reason why we are backing him to score.

Ousmane Dembele vs Brest

The first all-French UEFA Champions League tie in 15 years went as expected, with PSG dominating and eventually crushing Brest 3-0 to take a healthy lead into the second leg.

Ousmane Dembele was the star of the show again, scoring twice to take his tally for the season to 23 goals in 28 games. He has almost doubled his career best season which was 14 goals for Barcelona in 2019.

PSG have now beaten Brest three times this season, scoring 3+ goals each time.  Barring a shocking upset, expect them to win again, comfortably and Dembele to extend his remarkable scoring run.

Vangelis Pavlidis vs Monaco

Pavlidis has been in red-hot form for Benfica in recent weeks, and his record of eight goals in his last seven games makes him a danger man, not just for Monaco, but for the rest of Europe, should Benfica progress.

The Greek forward has 15 goals in all competitions this season, and his brilliantly dinked finish in the first leg to give Benfica a 1-0 advantage was his first and only real chance in the game. Any striker who needs just one chance to score is as dangerous as they come, and Pavlidis is finally stepping up to the plate.

It’s hard to predict a winner here, but we can at least bank on goals, as four of Benfica’s last five home games have featured at least four total goals.
