5 Nigerian Transfers to Watch This Summer

The 2025 summer transfer window has officially reopened for business – and some of Nigeria’s top stars are right in the thick of the action. From Victor Osimhen to Ademola Lookman, the rumour mill for the Super Eagles top stars is in full swing.

Here are five Super Eagles stars whose futures could be decided in the coming weeks – and the latest Bet9ja odds on where they might land.

Victor Osimhen
Galatasaray – 2.27 | Any Saudi Team – 3.50 | Juventus – 6.00 | Manchester United – 9.00

Victor Osimhen is one of the most in-demand footballers on the planet. After rejecting a €75m move to Al Hilal, he’s made it clear that he wants to stay in Europe. The 26-year-old striker scored 37 goals on loan at Galatasaray last season, helping the Turkish giants to a domestic double and reminding Europe of his world-class pedigree.

Galatasaray are desperate to keep him, but they’ll face competition. Juventus have shown renewed interest, especially with Dusan Vlahovic stalling on a new contract.

Saudi clubs aren’t giving up either, and there are whispers that a Man Utd move could be on if other deals fall through. His future remains wide open – but wherever he ends up, he’ll be a game-changer.

Ademola Lookman
Napoli – 3.00 | Arsenal – 4.50 | Stay at Atalanta – 5.50 | Liverpool – 8.00

Ademola Lookman is another Nigerian star who could be on the move. The 27-year-old winger had a phenomenal time with Atalanta, registering 52 goals and 25 assists in 118 appearances – and of course firing a historic hat-trick in the Europa League final against Leverkusen in 2024.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is personally handling negotiations to bring Lookman to Serie A champions Napoli, as Antonio Conte looks to replace Kvaratskhelia. Arsenal are also in talks, while Liverpool and Barcelona have been linked. Whether he stays in Italy or returns to the Premier League, this is one of the most intriguing sagas of the summer.

Victor Boniface
Stay at Leverkusen – 1.75 | Any Saudi Team – 3.25 | Any Turkish Super Lig Team – 7.00 | Newcastle – 11.00

Victor Boniface had a brilliant breakout year at Leverkusen in 2023/24, helping the club to a Bundesliga and DFB Pokal double. But his 2024/25 campaign has been more muted, with just 11 goals as injuries and competition for places took a toll.

Now, the club are reportedly open to letting him go – and there’s no shortage of suitors. Saudi teams have shown strong interest. Fenerbahçe, under José Mourinho, are also considering a move. Newcastle could enter the race too, depending on their summer business. The Nigerian forward is still just 24, and a fresh start might be what he needs to reignite his form.

Moses Simon
Odds not currently offered

Moses Simon has been a standout performer for Nantes for several seasons, but a move now looks likely. Newly-promoted Ligue 1 side Paris FC have submitted a bid for the winger, who produced eight goals and 10 assists in the league last season.

Nantes rejected the opening offer, but Simon’s contract expires next summer, and both parties appear ready for a change. The 29-year-old could bring quality and experience to a youthful Paris FC side hoping to make an impression in the top flight. Watch this space – more bids are expected in the coming days.

Cyriel Dessers
Odds not currently offered

Rangers striker Cyriel Dessers is reportedly on the verge of joining AEK Athens. The 30-year-old Nigerian forward has agreed personal terms with the Greek side, who are now finalising a transfer fee with Rangers.

Dessers scored 29 goals across all competitions last season and is viewed as AEK’s top target. With the club now backed by new ownership and preparing for UEFA Conference League football, it looks like this move is only a matter of time. Expect an official announcement soon.
