Kelechi Iheanacho has recently joined La Liga outfit Sevilla as a free agent, after leaving English Premier League club Leicester City this summer.
The Nigerian forward had several offers from top clubs across Europe, but after assessing these options, he opted to join Sevilla.
Here are five reasons why we think he will shine at Sevilla!
Experience at top level
At just 27-years-old, Iheanacho has plenty of experience at the highest level, notably in the Premier League where he has featured 196 times.
The Nigerian attacker has also got plenty of games in Europe under his belt, in the Europa Conference League, the Europa League and even seven appearances in the luxurious UEFA Champions League.
Proven goalscorer
The former Leicester City man has proven that he can score goals wherever he goes, with his most successful spell being in the English top flight where he netted 42 times.
Iheanacho’s hunger for goals will certainly be something that caught the eye of Francisco Javier Garcia Pimienta, who was recently appointed as Sevilla manager.
Link up play
Iheanacho has often played as a second striker due to his ability to link the play, and he proved this during his time in the Premier League where he notched 25 assists.
Garcia will be well aware of this capability that Iheanacho possesses, so will be able to utilise the forward in several different positions to help the team.
Time on his side
Although it seems like Iheanacho has been around forever, the Nigerian is just 27, so he has plenty of time in his career to show what he can do.
Iheanacho has signed a two-year deal with the Spanish outfit, but if he performs well during this time, then Sevilla will be in a good position to extend his stay further due to his age.
Familiar faces
Fellow Nigerian Chidera Ejuke is already at Sevilla which means Iheanacho will have a familiar face at the club which will help him settle into his new side at a faster pace.
Iheanacho has also played with Spanish international Jesus Navas while at Manchester City in the Premier League – this will also have made things easier upon his arrival to help him settle in on and off the pitch.
