8 July Transfer Rumours: Osimhen Twist, Arsenal & Liverpool in Transfer Battle, Super Eagles Star Move Collapses

The transfer window just keeps heating up! A huge offer has been knocked back in the Osimhen saga, Arsenal and Liverpool are battling over one of the Premier League’s most exciting players, and a Nigerian international’s big-money move has suddenly broken down.

Here are today’s biggest transfer rumours you need to know about…

Napoli Turn Down Galatasaray’s £52m Osimhen Bid

Victor Osimhen may have enjoyed a record-breaking season on loan at Galatasaray, but Napoli aren’t letting him go without a fight. According to Sky Italia, the Turkish side made a new £52 million offer, but Napoli rejected it immediately.

The Nigerian striker’s release clause of £64 million is only valid for foreign clubs, and Napoli are holding firm. Galatasaray still want him, Juventus are circling, and the saga is far from over.

Ndidi Wants Manchester United Switch

Manchester United are seriously considering a move for Wilfred Ndidi, who could be available for just £9 million – or even as low as £5 million, depending on reports.

The Leicester midfielder is being watched by Everton and Saudi clubs, but former Nigeria teammate Julius Aghahowa says Ndidi has his heart set on Old Trafford. United are ready to move once they offload Casemiro.

Eze Chooses Arsenal as Liverpool Circle

Eberechi Eze has told his agents he only wants to join Arsenal, despite Liverpool making moves to hijack the deal. The Crystal Palace star, who has 68 goal involvements in 167 games, has emerged as a top target for Mikel Arteta.

Arsenal have already held talks with his representatives, but financial complications and their pursuit of Gyokeres could leave the door open. Liverpool have funds available – but Eze reportedly wants a return to the club he supported as a kid.

Dessers Deal Off?

A transfer tug-of-war for Cyriel Dessers may be over – for now. Greek champions AEK Athens had a bid worth £3.9m rejected by Rangers, and are now pulling out of the race.

Coach Marko Nikolic hinted the club will prioritise other positions. Unless AEK return with an improved offer, Dessers is expected to stay at Ibrox – although interest from Dutch clubs remains alive.

Grealish Available as Trio Monitor Situation

Manchester City are reportedly open to selling Jack Grealish for £40 million, with Tottenham, Newcastle, and Napoli all interested. Grealish had a mixed season in 2024/25 and could be one of several big-name exits at the Etihad this summer.

Elanga to Newcastle Confirmed as Forest Target Replacement

Anthony Elanga is set for a medical at Newcastle, with a £55m fee agreed. In response, Nottingham Forest are pushing to sign Johan Bakayoko from PSV. The Belgian winger, 22, scored 11 goals last season and has been on Forest’s radar for years.

With Ramon Sosa also set to leave, Forest are chasing two wide players before the window closes.

Konate Wants Real Madrid Move

Reports in Spain claim Ibrahima Konaté has told Liverpool he will not renew his contract and intends to join Real Madrid when his deal expires next year. With Trent Alexander-Arnold already gone, another key player could be following him to the Bernabéu.

Liverpool Step Up Talks for Ekitike

It’s been building all summer, and now Liverpool’s interest in Hugo Ekitike appears to be heating up. The Eintracht Frankfurt striker, who has also been heavily linked with Manchester United, is reportedly in dialogue with the English champions – talks that have been ongoing since April. With Ekitike keen on a Premier League move, this one could go down to the wire.

Newcastle Confident of Beating Liverpool to Marc Guéhi

Liverpool may shift their focus to Crystal Palace defender Marc Guéhi, but they won’t have it easy. According to GiveMeSport, Newcastle are confident of winning the race for the England international.
