AFCON Villain On Way To The EPL? Today’s Latest Transfer Rumours

The January transfer window is heading towards its final days, and the rumour mill is in full swing as teams across the globe look to delve into the market in an attempt to secure last-minute reinforcements.

English Premier League teams are often the busiest of any sides throughout the January window, and with just over a week remaining, there is plenty of speculation regarding which stars could be on the move in the coming days.

Arsenal – Anthony Gordon (from Newcastle United)

Arsenal were heavily linked to a number of left-wingers throughout the summer transfer window, and speculation has once again picked up regarding the Gunners’ desire to strengthen their left flank, even despite the largely strong form of Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard.

Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon has emerged as Arsenal’s reported top target, and the winger, who has eight goals and four assists in 28 games this season, could supposedly cost upwards of £60m.

However, with Newcastle United’s repeated problems with the English Premier League’s PSR guidelines, a deal could be agreed between the two teams in the final days of the January window.

Chelsea – Jeremy Jacquet (from Stade Rennes)

Enzo Maresca made his feelings clear regarding his desire for another central defender during the summer, especially following the long-term injury to Levi Colwill, and it appears new manager Liam Rosenior is also asking for a new centre-back.

Stade Rennes’ Jeremy Jacquet has emerged as the Blues’ top target, with the 20-year-old defender reportedly set to cost around £55m.

Liverpool – Yan Diomande (from RB Leipzig)

Yan Diomande has attracted interest from a number of Europe’s elite clubs, and Liverpool are supposedly interested in making the deal during the January transfer window.

With the future of Mohamed Salah still unclear, as many predict the legendary forward may depart the club during January or at the end of the season, the Reds are looking to strengthen in the wide areas, and the talented Ivorian is understandably a top target.

However, any deal is expected to cost upwards of £80m, which would make this one of the biggest transfers in the history of the January transfer window.

Manchester City – Alex Scott (from Bournemouth)

Following the immediate success of Antoine Semenyo’s arrival from Bournemouth, with the forward scoring in his first two games for Manchester City, Pep Guardiola’s side are supposedly set to return to the Cherries for the signature of Alex Scott.

Manchester City are interested in bolstering their midfield options, especially due to the ageing Bernardo Silva and Mateo Kovacic, as well as the repeated injuries to Rodri, and Scott could be the perfect player to strengthen all areas in the middle of the park.

Manchester City are reportedly willing to offer over £50m for the services of the Bournemouth midfielder.

Manchester United – Marc Casado (from Barcelona)

Manchester United have been linked with a mass of midfielders as they aim to strengthen and improve upon their current options, the ageing Casemiro and often underwhelming Manuel Ugarte.

The Red Devils have identified Barcelona’s Marc Casado as a January target, especially as the midfielder’s future at the club appears to be in doubt given his limited playing time under Hansi Flick this season.

Tottenham Hotspur – Brahim Diaz (from Real Madrid)

Tottenham Hotspur have been criticised for their lack of attacking creativity so far this season, and the club are supposedly looking to sign Real Madrid’s Brahim Diaz in an attempt to increase their attacking output.

The attacking midfielder/winger, who finished the Africa Cup of Nations as the tournament’s top scorer, is high on Thomas Frank’s list of options, and negotiations are anticipated to take place in the coming days.
