This Sunday sees Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur face off in the first North London derby of the season at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal come into the game having just comprehensively beaten PSV Eindhoven 4-0 in their long-awaited return to the UEFA Champions League after last participating in 2016/17.
Tottenham will also be coming into the game with huge confidence after they scored twice in the dying moments of their last game against Sheffield United as they snatched victory from the jaws of defeat.
Arsenal vs Tottenham Hotspur
Sunday 24 September, 14:00
Emirates Stadium
Having started the season with a FA Community Shield win against Manchester City, Arsenal have continued to impress as they remain unbeaten across all competitions so far. In the English Premier League they have dropped points just once to Fulham in a 2-2 draw, leaving them on 13 points out of a possible 15 and in fourth place.
The Gunners standout performance came during their 3-1 win against Manchester United. Despite having to wait until added time to win the game, Arsenal showed dominance throughout as they racked up 2.27 expected goals (xG) compared to Man Utd’s 0.94xG. While the Gunners have yet to show quite the same level of performances they achieved last season, this game was a good look into what should be to come for Arsenal as the season progresses.
As for Tottenham, under the guidance of new boss Ange Postecoglou they, alongside Arsenal, make up one of the four remaining teams who are still unbeaten in the Premier League. Scoring 13 goals, including five against Burnley, and conceding five leaves Spurs with the second best goal difference in the league, only behind league leaders Manchester City. After losing Harry Kane in the summer expectations weren’t very high for this Tottenham team, but performances like the ones seen so far this season will be a welcome surprise to supporters.
Bet9ja Tips
As expected of a North London derby this is game is likely to be a tough battle for both sides, even more so with both in such good form going into the game. However, recent matchups between the two have seen Arsenal come away victors more often than not with them winning four of the last five meetings. Tottenham have also especially struggled at the Emirates with their last win their coming back in December 2018.
However, with the way Tottenham have been playing so far this season we can see them getting a result in this one. A Draw or Tottenham win is priced up at 2.10 with Bet9ja, with over 2.5 goals coming in at 1.50.
Bet9ja Odds (at time of writing): Arsenal win: 1.70, Draw: 4.35, Tottenham win: 4.45
