The Saudi Pro League is set to come to its closing stages in the following weeks with just two matchdays still to play before the curtains are drawn on the 2023/24 season.
While the top of the table is all but wrapped up with Al-Hilal already winning the league, Al-Nassr guaranteed second place and Al-Ahli holding a six-point lead over fourth-place, the fight for safety is far from resolved.
Abha Club and Al-Akhdoud Club are both on 29 points and reside in the relegation zone with Al Tai and Al Riyadh sitting just above them on 31 points each.
With drama and action sure to follow, read on as we pick out our top tips and booking codes for Thursday’s action:
Abha Club vs Al Khaleej
Abha Club may sit in the relegation zone heading into these final two matches, but they could move out of the bottom three with a win on Thursday depending on results elsewhere.
Abha Club’s upcoming game is set to take place at their home ground, where they have been extremely strong this season. They have picked up a staggering 27 of their 29 points when playing at home, the fifth highest points tally taken at home of any team in the division, while opponents Al Khaleej have been average when playing on the road.
With Al Khaleej failing to win in any of their last seven across all competitions and Abha Club having the home advantage, we believe the hosts will take a potentially crucial three points.
Abha Club to win, 2.35
Al Akhdoud Club vs Al Wehda
Al Akhdoud Club and Al Wehda may have both only drawn five times this campaign, the joint second least in the division, but Al Akhdoud have far from excelled at home and the hosts have struggled on the road.
Al Akhdoud have the 14th-highest points tally at home, while Al Wehda have the 14th-highest away record.
This, alongside Al Akhdoud’s recent two draws in three matches, makes us believe this one will end all square.
Al Akhdoud Club & Al Wehda to draw, 4.20
Al-Hilal vs Al Tai
Al-Hilal have returned to title victory this season after missing out for the first time in four years last time around, and this may just be one of their best yet.
They currently sit 12 points clear of second-placed Al-Nassr and are well on course to finish the entire league season undefeated, winning 29 and drawing three of their 32 matches so far. That record almost came to an end in their last outing with Al-Nassr as they went into the final seconds trailing 1-0, but a 100th Aleksandar Mitrovic penalty equalised and saved their unbeaten status.
They now face an Al Tai side who sit two points above relegation thanks to their upturn in recent form seeing them pick up two wins and three draws from their last six. However, the league leaders are a different challenge altogether and we expect Al Hilal to win this one fairly comfortably.
Al-Hilal to win, 1.13
Al Riyadh vs Al-Nassr
Cristiano Ronaldo has been phenomenal since joining Al-Nassr last season, continuing his outrageous goalscoring record at the age of 39 with 62 in 67 games since joining the Saudi Pro League side halfway through last campaign.
He currently leads the goalscoring charts in the league with 33 goals in 29 appearances, six more than Mitrovic on 27. Ronaldo has scored six goals in his last three games heading into this one, while he has already scored against Al Riyadh in a 4-1 win for his side earlier this season.
Because of this incredible form, we believe that Ronaldo will score two or more goals.
Cristiano Ronaldo to score two or more goals, 2.08
