The first two of eight UEFA Champions League round of 16 second legs take place on Tuesday night as Real Sociedad host PSG and Lazio travel to Bayern Munich.
Both games hold plenty of potential for drama with the ties being far from over. PSG lead their match against Real Sociedad, but the Spanish outfit will look to make the most of their home advantage in this second leg and mount a comeback. Lazio travel to Munich as the current leaders of their game after a 1-0 victory in the first leg and Bayern Munich are sure to be out for revenge in this one.
Read on as we pick out our top tips and booking codes for Tuesday’s UCL fixtures:
Real Sociedad vs PSG
Kylian Mbappe has been at the centre of his fair share of news stories in the past weeks, with reports that he has informed PSG that he will be departing on a free in the summer and other stories stating he has already agreed terms to join Real Madrid.
Most recently though, Mbappe has found himself in the news for his recent game-time for the Parisians. The forward was taken off at half time in PSG’s most recent game with AS Monaco, the second time he has been substituted in as many games with him also coming off in the 65th minute against Rennes the week before.
These two early substitutions have coincided with PSG drawing their last two games, with Mbappe’s previous goalscoring form also coming to an end in this time. While Luis Enrique is trying to make a statement as PSG must get used to playing without the striker, Mbappe is likely to play a big part in the upcoming Champions League tie.
With Mbappe expected to stay on the pitch for a longer period against Sociedad, a team who have lost five of their last six in all competitions, we believe Mbappe will be able to assert himself more in the game. If this is to happen, then we believe the Frenchman will go on to score his fifth goal in the competition this season.
Kylian Mbappe to score anytime, 2.50
Bayern Munich vs Lazio
Bayern Munich are having a rather poor season by the excellent standards that they have set in the past decade.
Bayern have won the past 11 Bundesliga titles, but this run looks to be in serious trouble this season with Bayer Leverkusen now 10 points clear at the top of the table. Die Roten also find themselves out of the running for the DFB Pokal after they were defeated 2-1 by third-division side FC Saarbrucken in the second round.
The German giants now find themselves on the brink of Champions League exit too with Lazio claiming a 1-0 victory in the first leg of their encounter. However, the Allianz Arena will be hosting the game and Bayern are sure to try and make the most of their home advantage to get back into the tie.
Bayern have been impressive when playing at home this season playing 15 games and losing just once, coming as a 1-0 loss to Werder Bremen in January. This will provide plenty of confidence to the German side coming into this game and we expect them to right their wrongs from the first leg and take home the victory in this one to progress.
Bayern Munich to win and over 2.5 goals, 1.71
