The first two of four UEFA Champions League quarter-final second legs are set to take place on Tuesday evening, with the second two following on Wednesday to determine the final two sides to progress into the semi-finals.
Wednesday’s two games see arguably the two most intriguing second legs after both fixtures ended in draws the first time around, leaving it all to play for in these upcoming games.
With this, drama and tension are sure to follow and so we’ve picked out our top tips for the coming matches:
Bayern Munich vs Arsenal
Harry Kane is on course to have his highest goalscoring season ever, sitting on 39 goals after 39 games in his first season with Bayern Munich, just two behind his highest tally of 41 in 2017/18.
The Englishman comes into this one having scored eight goals in his last seven appearances, including a penalty in the first leg of this tie. That goal was his 15th against Arsenal in 20 appearances against them, and we believe this goalscoring record will extend with another one in this game.
Harry Kane to score anytime, 2.30
Bayern Munich’s 11-year title streak was ended on Sunday as Bayer Leverkusen claimed their first Bundesliga trophy with a 5-0 win. This marks yet another part of a poor season for Bayern so far, sitting 16 points behind the league leaders with six losses in the league already.
However, this is sure to motivate Bayern to salvage their season with success in the Champions League and with them holding the home advantage in this one, where they have only lost twice this season, we believe they will win this one.
Bayern Munich to win, 2.40
Manchester City vs Real Madrid
Another Englishman who has been in hot form this season is Phil Foden, who has already broken his goalscoring record with 22 goals, six more than his second-best tally in 2020/21.
32 goal contributions in 45 games marks Phil Foden’s first season as a nailed-on starter for Pep Guardiola’s side, and he comes into this one having scored four goals in his last two appearances, including a wonder strike against Real Madrid in the first league.
With Foden in such impressive goalscoring form, we believe he will get on the scoresheet in this one as well.
Phil Foden to score anytime, 3.40
Manchester City are heading into this one drawing 3-3 with Real Madrid after the first leg in Spain, giving them a huge advantage ahead of the second leg at the Etihad Stadium.
City are still yet to lose at home this season, with their last defeat at the Etihad coming in November 2022 when Brentford won 2-1 in the 98th minute. This will give City huge confidence coming into this one, as well as the fact that they beat Real Madrid at home 4-0 last season.
For these reasons, we believe Manchester City will win this one and take another step towards completing back-to-back trebles.
Manchester City to win & over 2.5 goals, 2.20
