After a long international break, the focus finally returns to the Premier League – and the Fantasy Premier League season resumes with a full slate of Gameweek 12 fixtures.
The table remains wide open after a chaotic first third of the campaign. Arsenal sit top, Wolves remain bottom, and everything in between is almost impossible to predict.
EPL GW12 Fixtures:
Burnley v Chelsea
Bournemouth v West Ham
Brighton vs Brentford
Fulham vs Sunderland
Liverpool vs Nott’m Forest
Wolves vs Crystal Palace
Newcastle vs Man City
Leeds vs Aston Villa
Arsenal vs Spurs
Man Utd vs Everton
As the race for points tightens both on the pitch and in FPL leagues, managers are turning their attention to wildcard drafts and captaincy calls. With an unpredictable set of fixtures, we line up in a 4-5-1 formation for this week’s picks.
David Raya – Arsenal (£5.9m)
Despite conceding twice against Sunderland before the break, David Raya remains a set-and-forget goalkeeper. Arsenal still boast the best defensive record in the league, and Mikel Arteta’s system continues to limit opposition shots on target. With mostly favourable fixtures ahead, Raya is a steady long-term choice and the safest option for those on a wildcard.
Jurrien Timber – Arsenal (£6.2m)
With Gabriel ruled out through injury, Jurrien Timber becomes the next-best route into Arsenal’s defence. He offers attacking potential through progressive carries and remains central to the league’s best back line. Arsenal’s defensive structure has been superb all season, and Timber’s reliability makes him one of the most secure picks ahead of a crucial north London derby in Gameweek 12.

Marcos Senesi – Bournemouth (£5.0m)
Marcos Senesi continues to deliver excellent underlying numbers. He averages over 13 defensive contributions per 90 minutes — the best among all defenders — while also posing an attacking threat, with 0.15 expected goal involvement per 90, higher than Arsenal’s Gabriel. Bournemouth’s upcoming fixtures against West Ham, Sunderland and Everton give him both clean-sheet and attacking upside. A solid differential pick for managers looking to climb mini-leagues.
Virgil van Dijk – Liverpool (£5.9m)
Liverpool’s form has been inconsistent, but Virgil van Dijk remains one of the most reliable defenders in FPL. He ranks second in the league for defensive contributions behind Senesi and continues to offer serious attacking potential from set-pieces. Liverpool’s upcoming fixtures provide an ideal chance for returns, and Van Dijk’s consistency makes him the best way to cover the Reds’ back line heading into the festive schedule.
Daniel Muñoz – Crystal Palace (£5.7m)
A mainstay in many wildcard drafts, Daniel Muñoz remains one of FPL’s most balanced defenders. Palace face four of the bottom seven defences in their next four matches, and Muñoz’s ability to deliver points at both ends of the pitch makes him a strong option. Even with his defensive contribution rate dipping slightly, he’s still among the top five scoring defenders this season and is well-positioned for another productive run.
Bruno Fernandes – Manchester United (£8.9m)
Manchester United’s captain continues to provide reliable output across all metrics. He ranks fifth among midfielders for total shots (25) and leads the league for chances created (29). His expected goal involvement (xGI) of 6.45 is the highest of any midfielder in FPL, underpinned by penalty duties and consistent minutes. With United entering a long stretch of favourable fixtures, Fernandes remains one of the most dependable premium options in midfield.
Dominik Szoboszlai – Liverpool (£6.6m)
With Liverpool’s trip to the Etihad now behind them, Dominik Szoboszlai offers excellent value during a favourable run of fixtures. He ranks joint-sixth among all midfielders for combined shots and chances created and is on both corner and free-kick duties. Crucially, he’s the only Liverpool attacker to have started and finished every Premier League game this season, giving him rare security of minutes. His attacking potential continues to rise now that Arne Slot has pushed him higher up the pitch in recent weeks.

Are you ready to go 1Up?!
Ismaïla Sarr – Crystal Palace (£6.7m)
Few midfielders are in better form than Ismaïla Sarr. The Palace winger has four goals in his last three games and is central to everything good about their attack. Wolves have struggled defensively, making this fixture perfect for another Sarr return. His pace and direct playstyle make him a strong differential for managers chasing rank.
Dango Ouattara – Brentford (£6.0m)
Ouattara is emerging as one of the most effective mid-priced midfielders in FPL. Despite being AFCON-bound next month, his immediate fixtures offer huge potential — home to Burnley and Leeds, plus a trip to an out-of-form Tottenham side. He leads all midfielders under £6.5m for expected goals (2.55) and sits among the top four for big chances created. Owned by less than one per cent of managers, he’s a short-term gem.
Bryan Mbeumo – Brentford (£8.5m)
Bryan Mbeumo’s form cannot be ignored. With four goals in his last four matches, he’s elevated himself into the elite FPL bracket. Brentford’s attack revolves around him, and he’s producing elite-level underlying numbers in both shot volume and expected involvement. Upcoming fixtures against Everton, Palace, West Ham and Wolves are ideal for continuing his run. For those without a Brentford attacker, now is the time to move.
Erling Haaland – Manchester City (£14.9m)
There’s no debate over the forward spot. Erling Haaland remains essential and is once again the most popular captain choice of the week. Newcastle away might be tricky, but City’s run of fixtures beyond that is inviting. He’s close to reaching the £15m mark for a reason — his combination of consistency and explosive potential makes him the cornerstone of every successful FPL squad.

Bryne Mbuemo is a Manchester United forward, not Brentford. Do make the requisite corrections in your FPL post.
