Bet9ja FPL Picks & Prizes: Who to Choose for GW13

The Premier League continues with GW13, and the table still looks nothing like anyone predicted back in August. Arsenal remain top, Wolves remain bottom, and almost everything else feels like it could change at the drop of a hat.

This week’s picks focus on reliability, strong underlying numbers and favourable matchups across the board. We set up in a 4-3-3 this week.

EPL GW12 Fixtures:

Brentford v Burnley
Sunderland v Bournemouth
Man City vs Leeds
Everton vs Newcastle
Tottenham vs Fulham
Crystal Palace vs Man Utd
West Ham vs Liverpool
Aston Villa vs Wolves
Nott’m Forestl vs Brighton
Chelsea vs Arsenal

With chips resetting in GW19, and Chelsea v Arsenal/Palace v Man Utd both full of FPL favourites, it could be a good week to play your free hit or wildcard.

Goalkeeper

Caoimhin Kelleher – Brentford (£4.5m)

Brentford may have kept only two clean sheets so far this season, but facing Burnley at home is arguably the most favourable fixture in the league. Brenford have won every home game apart from a draw with Chelsea and defeat to Man City, so they are a force to be reckoned with at the Gtech Community Stadium, and we think Kelleher stands a good chance of a clean sheet

Defenders

Jurrien Timber – Arsenal (£6.3m)

Timber offers a secure route into the league’s best defence, and with Gabriel sidelined, his importance only grows. Arsenal’s meeting with Chelsea is likely to be low-scoring after both sides exerted plenty of energy in midweek European action. Timber also provides a touch of attacking threat, demonstrated by his assist in Gameweek 12, and his minutes look reliable heading into the winter period.

Daniel Muñoz – Crystal Palace (£5.9m)

The fixture doesn’t look ideal on paper, but Muñoz’s role makes him a valuable asset regardless. Palace defenders remain popular, and selecting Muñoz offers both defensive coverage and attacking upside against a Manchester United backline that continues to give away chances. His nailed-on minutes also remove any rotation concerns following Palace’s European commitments.

Matheus Nunes – Manchester City (£5.3m)

Nunes is expected to return to the starting XI at right-back after being rested for City’s defeat to Leverkusen. Historically, Pep Guardiola’s side respond strongly after losses, and Leeds at home presents a prime opportunity. Nunes has shown he can contribute at both ends of the pitch and his defensive contribution potential makes him one of the most overlooked City options, sitting in fewer than two per cent of teams.

Matty Cash – Aston Villa (£4.6m)

Villa’s defensive record has been quietly impressive, and Cash remains their most attacking defender. Playing as an auxiliary winger at times, he already has two goals this season and continues to get into advanced areas. Wolves, bottom of the table and struggling badly for goals, provide one of the best defensive matchups of the weekend. With Villa considered strong favourites for a clean sheet, Cash carries both defensive and attacking appeal.

Midfielders

Morgan Rogers – Aston Villa (£6.9m)

Rogers produced his best FPL haul of the season with a brace at Leeds in Gameweek 12 and now has five attacking returns in his last seven matches. He leads Villa for shots on target and chances created, while remaining completely nailed in terms of minutes. Wolves have conceded more goals than any Premier League team this season, making this a perfect opportunity for Rogers to continue his form. Villa’s long-term fixtures also remain appealing.

Jeremy Doku – Manchester City (£6.5m)

Doku blanked in Gameweek 12 but was inches away from delivering multiple assists against Newcastle. His underlying numbers are outstanding. He has created more chances than any City player besides Haaland, leads City for big chances created and ranks among the league’s best for final-third involvement. Rotation will always be a factor under Pep Guardiola, but Doku has started 12 of City’s last 14 matches in all competitions and appears increasingly trusted.

Kevin Schade – Brentford (£7.0m)

Schade continues to quietly post strong numbers and now has five attacking returns this season, with four coming in the last seven Gameweeks. His shot volume inside the box is excellent and he remains heavily involved in Brentford’s forward play. Burnley have conceded more away goals than any side in the league, and Brentford have been ruthless at home, making this a prime fixture for Schade to deliver his first double-digit haul of the campaign.

Forwards

Erling Haaland – Manchester City (£14.9m)

No surprises here. Leeds at home should be straightforward, and Haaland is still the standout captain option for Gameweek 13. After a rare blank against Newcastle in Gameweek 12, he remains the league’s most reliable source of goals and sits at the heart of City’s expected response after their midweek defeat.

Igor Thiago – Brentford (£6.5m)

Thiago enters the Gameweek with nine goals in twelve matches and continues to look like one of the league’s most dangerous forwards. His role in Brentford’s attack is secure and Burnley at home is as good as it gets. The Clarets have conceded more goals away from home than any other team, and Thiago should have more than enough chances to extend his scoring streak.

Richarlison – Tottenham (£6.4m)

Richarlison earns the final forward spot after his excellent finish against Arsenal in Gameweek 12. He remains Tottenham’s biggest threat in the attacking third and should be on penalties. Spurs were disappointing last time out, which adds some risk, and Thomas Frank has rotated his attack after midweek matches. Even so, with goals against Arsenal and PSG, Richarlison’s individual form keeps him ahead in this slot for now.
