Top 3: What To Watch As The English Premier League Returns

The ever exciting English Premier League returns this weekend after the international break, and we have picked our top three things for you to look out for.

As we head into the business end of the season, the top flight in England is really heating up with a title race and a devastatingly close relegation battle on our hands.

With a full programme of matches to look forward TO this weekend, check out our markets at Bet9ja, with more than 200 for every Premier League fixture.

Liverpool to pull off shock defeat?

It might seem rather odd to suggest that it would be a shock win for Liverpool in any fixture, but with Manchester City being their opponents and currently sitting 19 points ahead of them, this is an exception.

City have picked up some good form in recent times, after they have not lost in their last 10 matches in all competitions, winning 7-0 and 6-0 in their previous two matches.

Liverpool finished runners-up behind City last season by a single point, but they seem to be a shadow of their former selves this season, and they have lost their last two games in all competitions, so it does not look great for Jurgen Klopp heading to the Etihad Stadium.

Brighton to extend the gap?

Brighton & Hove Albion have certainly performed beyond expectations this season, sitting nicely in seventh, level on points with Brentford who are eighth, but the Seagulls have two games in hand.

The Bees travel to the Amex Stadium this weekend, and it could be too much of a mountain for them to climb to reach Europe ahead of next season, if they do lose on their trip to the seaside. However, a win for the hosts would be a major boost for their own European hopes.

Battle for the Top Four

Manchester United travel to St James’ Park where they will face Newcastle United on Sunday, and the visitors currently sit three points behind Erik ten Hag’s side.

United are currently four games without a loss in all competitions, but they know that this game is crucial in their attempts to cement a place in the top four.

The Magpies have two games in hand over Tottenham Hotspur who sit fourth in the standings, and they are just two points behind them, so a win in this game could put them in a great position on their hunt to get in the UEFA Champions League next season.
