The 2024-25 English Premier League season is just around the corner, with Manchester United set to host Fulham at Old Trafford next Friday in the highly anticipated opening fixture. As the football world prepares for yet another thrilling campaign of twists and turns, the excitement among fans is reaching its peak.
In anticipation of the season’s kick-off, we’re going to look at some early predictions for the EPL season, picking out our favourites to win the title, achieve top-four and top-six finishes, and the clubs likely to face relegation.
We are also going to name our predictions for the EPL Player of the Season, EPL Young Player of the Season and the top scorer.
EPL TITLE WINNER – ARSENAL
Arsenal have come close to the title in each of the last two seasons and Mikel Arteta will be determined to finally beat Manchester City and lift the Premier League trophy this year. The addition of Riccardo Calafiori to an already excellent defence, as well as a full season with a Kai Havertz who found his feet at the end of the last campaign, and we believe this is the year for the Gunners to kick on.

EPL TOP FOUR – MANCHESTER CITY, LIVERPOOL, MANCHESTER UNITED
Manchester City will certainly be in the fight for the title and are virtually nailed on to finish in the top four this season, but the other two positions are likely to be under siege by numerous sides. We believe that Liverpool and Manchester United will be the two to grab the UEFA Champions League places, with Arne Slot inheriting a fantastic Liverpool side and Man United are surely only going to improve upon a disastrous campaign last time out.
EPL TOP SIX – TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR, ASTON VILLA
Tottenham Hotspur narrowly missed out on the top four last year, and while they have made good additions to their side in young talent Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall, they are unlikely to immediately improve the side, and we believe they will miss out once again.
Aston Villa did secure Champions League football last season with a fourth-placed finish and we believe the added pressure and fixtures of competing in Europe’s top-tier competition, as well as losing the likes of Douglas Luiz and Moussa Diaby, could see them drop out of the top four.
EPL RELEGATION – LEICESTER CITY, NOTTINGHAM FOREST, SOUTHAMPTON
Leicester City have lost a number of players that have Premier League experience while adding unproven players at the top level and with Steve Cooper in charge, who has struggled in the Premier League in previous seasons, we fancy Leicester to go straight back down.
Southampton have made several signings that could prove vital in their efforts to stay in the division, most notably the addition of highly-rated Yukinari Sugawara from AZ Alkmaar, but no proven striker at this level could prove costly.
Nottingham Forest have flirted with relegation for each of the past two seasons since returning to the top flight and we believe this will finally be the campaign that they can’t avoid the drop any longer.

EPL PLAYER OF THE SEASON – MARTIN ODEGAARD
If our prediction of Arsenal winning the league title is to come true, then the man who will orchestrate the team’s success will be midfield maestro Martin Odegaard. The Norwegian has been fantastic since joining Arsenal and has reached a new level every season, and we believe he will be the key part of a title-winning team this year.
EPL YOUNG PLAYER OF THE SEASON – ALEJANDRO GARNACHO
Alejandro Garnacho’s first full campaign for Manchester United was a brilliant one for the Argentinian, despite the struggles that his side may have faced.
The winger scored seven and assisted four in a side that scored the fewest of any in the top nine and often found themselves on the back foot. If our prediction that Manchester United will improve this season is correct, then we can only imagine how good Garnacho will be this campaign.
EPL TOP SCORER – ERLING HAALAND
Ever since joining Manchester City in 2022/23, the prediction for who will win the EPL Golden Boot has become a rather simple one. Haaland scored an outrageous 36 in 35 league games in his first campaign and added another 27 to his Premier League tally last year.
We can not see anyone getting close to the Norwegian’s scoring ability this year, and we fancy Haaland to once again take home the Golden Boot.
