The English Premier League action continues this weekend with matchday 13, keeping the intense winter schedule in full swing.
As the season heats up, every match brings opportunities for teams to climb the table or solidify their position, and there is expected to be plenty of drama throughout this weekend’s fixtures.
We take a closer look at a selection of the matches and picking out our top tips and best booking code (odds at time of writing):
West Ham vs Arsenal
After a slight downturn in form that saw Arsenal win just two times in a span of seven matches, three losses and two draws, the Gunners appear to have exited that run and got back to their best in their last outings.
A 3-0 battering of Nottingham Forest was followed by a 5-1 humiliation of Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League, leaving them with plenty of confidence as they take on West Ham, with the chance to move into second place this weekend.
West Ham may have defeated Newcastle and Manchester United in their last four games, losing to Nottingham Forest and drawing to Everton in that time, but their overall form this season has been lacklustre, leaving them 14th heading into this game.
While West Ham will be buoyed by those recent wins, Arsenal are undoubtedly the stronger side, and we expect another comfortable win for the visitors.
Arsenal to win, 1.48
Chelsea vs Aston Villa
Chelsea have enjoyed a brilliant campaign so far, sitting top of the Conference League table with four wins from four and third in the Premier League table with 22 points from 12, after six wins, four draws and two losses.
Aston Villa, on the other hand, are down in eighth and have had a dismal time in recent weeks, heading into this game having failed to win any of their last seven games across all competitions, suffering four losses and three draws.
With Chelsea in better form and also boasting the home advantage against a Villa side that are low on confidence, we believe the Blues will win here.
Chelsea to win, 1.70
Manchester United vs Everton
Rasmus Hojlund was heavily tipped to be Ruben Amorim’s main goalscorer when the new manager joined Man United, with the striker sharing many traits to the prolific Viktor Gyokeres that Amorim had at his disposal in Sporting.
After starting the game against Ipswich on the bench, Hojlund was given his first start in Amorim’s second match in charge against Bodo/Glimt, and the striker certainly showed why he could be Man United’s main number nine.
Hojlund scored twice in that match and was a constant threat throughout the game, and with Everton already conceding 17 times in 12 games, we believe the striker will get plenty of chances here. For that reason, backing Hojlund to score against Everton could be a sensible move.
Rasmus Hojlund to score anytime, 2.80
Liverpool vs Manchester City
Undoubtedly the blockbuster match-up of the weekend, league leaders Liverpool will face reigning champions Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday.
Find out how you can win N100,00 this weekend on our social channels for this huge match.
The hosts have lost just one game all season across all competitions, winning 17 and drawing one, leaving them top of both the Premier League and Champions League tables. They actually come into this game having won all of their last six, including a brilliant 2-0 win over Real Madrid in their last outing, leaving them with huge confidence.
Man City, in comparison, are going through their toughest spell since Pep Guardiola took charge of the club in 2016, having failed to win any of their last six matches across all competitions, including a run of five consecutive losses before throwing away a 3-0 lead to draw 3-3 with Feyenoord last time out.
With that awful form, combined with Liverpool’s home advantage and huge confidence from their remarkable start to life under Arne Slot, we believe the Reds will win this one and extend Man City’s misery.
Liverpool to win, 2.10
